After reading these reviews I called to cancel installation by Virgin. I was offered a £30 credit and reminded that I could cancel at any time in the next 28 days.
After the engineers left I did a speedtest which came back at the advertised level. However during peak time 6pm -11pm I was consistently getting 200kbps and regularly nothing. The wires outside are white against a brown brick wall, I had assumed the fitters would run them next to the white windows where they would blend in. The cable ties are a mixture of black and white and too widely spaced so the wires are flapping in places. Inside the washers that feed the cable through the wall are large and black with white cables going in to them. I thought I had nothing to lose but now have to repair the external plaster work, fill the holes drilled through my walls and redecorate. Poor finish and pathetic service from Virgin. I feel very stupid for not following the advice on here nor my instincts by cancelling the installation. Will do so first thing tomorrow.
