Got a call from timetalk asking me to leave a review on timetalk as i had been a member for 1yr now so when i got it i needed a new line for my flat and bt were charging me loads so timetalk offered free line setup if i took a contract. “Absolutely useless! ”

Have been with time talk for about a year. Started off badly with interrupted signal and engineers were sent out on several occasions not fixing anything? When got started was very slow. I spoke to the manger of technical support and said that my area was known for slow broadband. When switching to time talk they slated the previous supplier saying how they are using an old mast and with them I would get better and faster broadband. “Misleading information”

First, the promise, A fixed price contract which increases over time. Then the service. A 2Mb/s minimum verbal promise (written is Up to 5mb/s. On some evenings I was struggling to get 800Kb/s, so unable to stream. Finally, the misleading communications. AVOID THIS COMPANY - DO NOT GO WITH THEM THEY ARE THE COMPANY FROM HELL - Rubbish customer service. I was sent a really good price from Contracts Manager, which I accepted, it was the worse thing I ever did, not only did they NOT charge me what was in their order, they charged me double, setting up two accounts in my name and took about £100 per month for three months out of my account. When I received an email stating that they were going to increase their price, me - not the price they should have been charging me, but the price that decided to charge which was nearly double what was in my original quote, I thought enough is enough their Fibre optic that wasn't - it fact it was rubbish as the upload speed was awful and kept dropping off. I had the same problem they tried to slap a £230 terminating fee on me. But I went direct to CISAS (which is on their website) they acted for me similar to Ofcom, and guess what they had to pay me compensation, apologise to me and take off all the cancellation fees.

Thanks oldcroney. I wasn't aware that Cisas existed. I made a complaint via citizens advice to trading standards. But am now counting down the days (8 weeks from first complaint) until i can go on the cisas website.

TIP 1. Only enter a written contract with this company,take with a pinch of salt any verball contract you make. TIP 2. Check your contract that both Line rental and broadband finish on the same date you could well find your self paying £90.00 to end your contract for Line rental after your broadband contract has expired. “Very Expensive with no customer service”

I was under the impression that my bill would be £17 to £18. But actually they debited around £30 each month. I tried to contact the company but no one on the other end. Send emails to this company but they just ignored. Phoned and no one answering. Yes, I'm leaving this rubbish company even they said they will charge me £150 for remaining 23 days. “Time Talk OK, internet and calls OK.”

Was looking to talktalk deal but ended up talking to time talk and they said they could offer same deal cheaper, so took it and asked for some international minutes. Installation took 7 days and router worked first time just plugged it in! Speed is OK basically same as talktalk, good for browsing and iplayer / netflix. “Finally on supanet fibre, everything finally works!”

Was on supanet adsl (about 6-8mb) for several years and got a supanet newsletter stating i could finally upgrade to fibre for a reasonable price - cheap to start then rises after a few months. After a few weeks of waiting got a new faster wifi n router and also about 30-36mb speed and cant believe the difference bbc iplayer and netflix work great and now i can play COD online with a pretty decent ping finally :) download limit is reasonable to as it allows me to stream and download steam… Read Full Review

“Worst Broadband Provider”

I changed started a Phone and BB contract with Timetalk in Dec 12, but there was dealy in getting conected and I was without BB for 10 days. It was sold to me as a fixed price contract, but found that nothing was fixed and I have had increased charges ever since without being informed to expect them. I agree entirely with this review, they have increased both my line rental and my download cost, again without any notification. I am awaiting completion of my contract and then will find another ISP. I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS ISP TO ANYONE

Absolutely diabolical customer service. Nice people but totally ineffective.

No one cares. They won't reply to emails and never make the return calls promised. Fine until you have a problem then you really are in a fix. it is impossible to be put in touch with anyone who has any authority. Avoid them and use a reputable company.

You are just one of the many who find this company's behaviour unacceptable. They have now started charging me for internet security which I do not need and didn't ask for. I have received no reply for my complaints. This is tantemount to stealing .. criminal activity under a different name. DO NOT CHANGE TO THIS IP.

joined timetalk and sent a router that i didnt like due to the wifi signal not reaching my upstairs bedroom, so talked to mark from tech and he said he could ship me a better router for free if i bought a wifi power booster for a few extra quid a month, was a bit skeptical but now when all setup the signal is strong and can even reach my garage (internet jukebox!). I have been told by timetalk that they have made changes to their customer care structure over the last month to solve problems quickly. 6 months ago I had a back and forth with them for nearly 2 months to resolve the issue of overcharging me for the broadband usage. Last evening with nothing else to do!! haha, I went into my Timetalk account and retrieved all the bills since the start of this awful contract and found that they had charged me twice for the delivery of the router £13+ and had charged me for Voicemail before they advised me that the charge was going to apply, in fact they are now charging for everything that I was getting free from Talktalk and that they said they would also honour.

I have now printed out all this information together with all the emails that were sent to them in readiness for the onslaught...watch this space!!

I too am a pensioner sweet talked in exactly the same way.

I took my case to CICAS who decided in my favour.

1 The contract is to be cancelled without my incurring a termination fee
2 All outstanding charges to be cancelled
3 I be paid £50 in compensation

I urge everyone who has been cheated by this company to take
their complaint to CICAS without delay

I hope you get your £50 compensation, but I wouldn't hold my breath!!...I intend to pay for my line rental up until 31st January when my other provider takes over and they can whistle for the rest...at present my account says I owe them over £162...,,£150 of that is a "Cancellation Fee"....I dont think so, roll on the 31st and I can get rid of these dreadful people for good!!!

I am so mad that this so called company talked me into going with them, BIG MISTAKE,how mad was I to listen but like all you's I did. Hi, I really hope you are right about the 'Not paying a cancellation fee' They quoted me £150 to cancel, then after a very distressing 20 minute phone call to a very,very rude person on the cancellation number,( he put the phone down on me in the end) I went onto my account website for timetalk and the £150 had increased to £162 !!. I have cancelled my direct debit with them so they cannot take money out of my account,but I am really worried they will come after me.

They are the ones in the wrong.I don't know why Ofcom haven't done anything about them.If you haven't had the contract for long,write a letter of cancellation to them,You do have to put it in the correct wording.The Citizens Advice page on your computer will show you how to word it and send it to Time Talk Registered post.I did all that.They wanted me to pay £350 to cancel,but after I sent them the letter to cancel I didn't hear anything else and that was 15 months ago.Also phone OFCOM and make a complaint.They cant keep doing this to people.They wont come after you.

i have more to add.i to joined them the same way logging in to my talk talk account got redirected to time and like an idiot got sucked in my phone and bb was 16.32 a month thats all you will pay they said our bb is better and faster than talk talk they said i got about 8mb with talk talk most of the time but was tempted with a promise of between 16 and 20 with time talk.i thought it was a good deal (lmao)at first i got 17 i thought this was great until my cooling of period ran out then it dropped to 0.84 rang engineers 1 hour and 20 mins later i got up to 11mb so i said that will do for now how wrong i was next day back down to 1.6 this time. again engineers over an hour on the phone so i canceled my dd and waited got a phone call about unpaid so told them give me what you said you would and i will gladly pay so again sorted got back me to 17mb.so i paid bill only thing was i was short in my account so i used my partners card not to set up dd just one of payment with 16 numbers and number on back of card and we all know they can only use once they took 4 more payments which is illegal so after payment 2 went my partner rang and stop doing this you dont have my permission no they kept taking payments by this time i was working till 7 at night so was my partner no lines open after 5 so we couldnt get through after i went to my normal hours i contacted them it took 1 hour and 45 mins just for them to answer. so when they did god did they get it i told them i need someones name.what for he asked i need a name to give to police so they know who to arrest any you see where that was going anyway i said you need to give that money back first they said we have to go to bank and ask no i said you have to put it back so they said ok.next day i check my account and my bill is now 232 pounds so i thought they put the money back no they want me to pay this money again so again on the phone screaming at them you expect me to pay again dont think so cancel my bb they said will be a fee so i just scream down the phone and hung up.LIKE THEY ALL SAY STAY AWAY.now im bored writing i could write a book but i just gonna shut up

I too was mad enough to sign with this company, i was only with them for 3 weeks and i cancelled, they took money out of my account off my debit card without my permission ,they refused to refund, i sent the router back ,this was acknowledged but yet they say they haven't received and over a year later they have just taken out £99 without my permission, this company should be stopped.

“Good UK NET Service”

The only problem was due to a intermittent defective router, which took three months to resolve. New router fixed the problem, good English knowledgeable support staff, but a pig to get them to take a call. (upto half an hour on the nominated Technical Helpline). But I have not had any Talk Talk type communication or invoice problems, so I guess you get what you pay for, in this case a good value for money service… Read Full Review

Been with them for 11 months only received 1 email telling me when I was connected. Only received a link to a contract a few weeks ago when I complained about download speeds and read it was an 18mth contract when I had specifically asked for a 12mth one. they of course would not budge on it.
