Echo the other reviews of how I ended up speaking to this outfit. I wanted to continue my business with Talktalk when I moved but ended up chatting away to some fast talking fella for some time about what I needed to happen with my phone and broadband until he eventually told me I was through to Timetalk. Offered a much better deal, rubbished Talktalk, including the "fact" they were based in the UK and I would always be put through to an English person!!! I didn't like that, but ignored the... Some years ago I had the same problem with NTL. I'm lucky enough to be a member of a certain consumer rights organisation, so I contacted their legal dept who, for about £9 (I think that was legal advice for a year) advised me thus - any contract is a two-way entity, with rights and obligations on both sides. So if they're reneging on their end of the deal and you want to cancel, write to them pointing out that under distance selling legislation, as they are not providing the service... (read more)

Just cancel direct debit. After 4 months of them not taking my direct debit and cutting me off, I swapped to Sky.. Sent them this letter, and never heard another thing from this awful, awful company.
Dear Sir
I am writing in response to your letter dated 20.03.13 regarding an alleged late payment of £ .
I refer you back to my previous correspondence to you, in which I have stated more than once, that I am NOT prepared to be kept on hold indefinitely on a premium rate number trying to get through to you, and have asked you to call me to resolve this bill issue, to no avail.
As previously mentioned, your shocking service, and inability to take my direct payments, even though I have given you all my details numerous times, has lead me to change providers as you are aware, so I have no intention in paying a late fee of £40.00 for your failings as a service provider.
Please find enclosed a cheque for £ as full and final payment to you for the original outstanding balance, and as such, expect no further dealings or correspondence from you in this matter.
I have sent a letter of complaint to Ofcom regarding your company, as judging by the reviews of Timetalk on the internet, so have many others, so could I suggest that you review your company and it’s working practises so can actually ‘ strive to deliver quality services’ as you profess, but fail to do.

I FOUND THIS ADDRESS ON 'TIMETALK' WEBSITE
TIME TECHNOLOGY PARK
BLACKBURN ROAD
BURNLEY
LANCS
BB12 7TW
We got caught out today, we will be writing to this address [recorded delivery of course] , and using a template letter we found on 'citizens advice' site, we have emailed them through their customer services contact form, [found on their website],
we have informed the bank and asked them to block any payments made to this company, we have informed 'talktalk' of what they are doing, and tomorrow we will phone 'talktalk' and tell them not to let this company take over our line.
I dont see as there is anything more that we can do.
As all this only happened today we will keep everyone informed of any progress.

Thanks for response. I saw this address but thought it was just a repair outfit for more than timetalk.. I called my bank and they cancelled the direct debit which had been set up 2 days after the phone call. They were making sure that they got their money before the cancellation period expired. My bank confirmed that I was not the first customer this has happened to. Happily, direct debit cancelled. Good luck!

UPDATE ON PROGRESS
We have written to the above address, guess what?? no reply, no reply from email either, they tried to set up a direct debit which we promptly cancelled.
Today we get confirmation of 'impending transfer', we will be ringing talktalk tomorrow again just to confirm to them that we don't want to change provider.
We have also written to the address on the bottom of the letter in Cyprus, just to ensure all angles have been covered.
SUPATEL LTD [although we addressed it to 'TIMETALK/SUPATEL LTD]
Stadyl Building
Corner Them
Dervis-florinis Street
Nicosia
Cyprus
We have also found out that SUPATEL [trading as TIMETALK] is being investigated by OFCOM.

THEN, they held my line hostage so Talk Talk cudn't take it over again and I went neary 10 WEEKS with no internet ! I had to figure all that out myself by the way, and Time Talk offered me a meesley £150 goodwill! I think for 10 weeks of a nightmare that does not cut the mustard. I was trying to get hold of talktalk & somehow ended up talking to these people as well who sounded great with a £10 cheaper outcome.
I have just sorted out a 10 day OFF LINE talktalk cockup and not happy with with them again so just managed to stop my DD again that was about to be paid. I have been with talktalk for about 6 years and this is not the first time I have stopped the DD. They get verry P'd off when I do this.
Reading these reviews this Time Talk don't look so clever either now, but they are based in the UK and all speak good English unlike the call centers of talktalk!!
I have no problems calling Time Talk & will be calling them on Saturday the 23/03/13
What I do find odd is that they say I can keep all 6 E~Mail addresses I have with talktalk even though I would be leaving them, how the hell can this be?? Not only that but but they won't send me a router until my telephony service is running first??
This is why I have started looking for info on Time Talk & what a shock, so far I can't find a good one and will be letting you know what they say after I call them. Good luck to you all for now.

Anyway, no internet again from tomorrow, if anyone reads this, do yourselves a favour and stay well clear of Timetalk.

I too was duped into signing up with TimeTalk in exactly the same way as others have described here by a popup message on my TalkTalk account saying there was a problem but as my Talktalk contract was in it's last month I decided to go with it anyway. So far it seems to be ok, the switchover went smoothly for my phone, it was only off for a few hours but my broadband took another five business days to get connected. One problem I am having is that their broadband service only seems to... (read more)

Having been offered a smooth transition from TalkTalk to TimeTalk I ended up with a phoneline but no Internet for two whole weeks.Timetalk did ultimately compensate me with 6months free Internet but I must have spent hours trying to find out where the problem lay. Each time I spoke to different customer reps. slightly more info. was leeched out to me until the eventual admission that they half expect this sort of delay when transferring people from a TalkTalk line back to B.T.. Once sorted... (read more)

Hi Graeme, like yourself I have recently swapped to Timetalk after being with Talk Talk and hearing your problems is like a carbon copy of what I have been going through. They are just awful, I also was under the impression I had signed up for the 'unlimited' package only to look at the online account which had billed me for £85.00. I complained and was then informed that I had signed up for the package that had a 10GB limit. I was adamant I did not and they said they would recall the phone conversation....that was 7 weeks ago and after phoning them three times over this, I still have still not retrieved the call. The speed is ridiculously slow...not even reaching 1Gb when tested with 'Speedtest' I complained about this too but was told that everything is OK their end so it must be my set up. I am still unable to hook up to my email and need to go on to the 'Timetalk' website to access my emails...and even that is malfunctioning now and kicking me offline within seconds of signing in. I have a Mac and was told that there is no support for Macs and I think this is one of the reasons for all my problems. Do you know where we stand with regards to cancellations, looking at the T&C's it seems like they have us by the proverbials!.
Please take heed people and learn from our mistakes...stay well away from Timetalk.

This is the saga of Timetalk up to the present time. Following a second phone call last night from someone and discussing my failure to pay my bill i am resending the previous cancellation email for your people to hopefully enable them to work out what they are doing wrong. Please find enclosed copy of the third sending of this email and wish for you to forward it to your cancellation department as requested previously by phone, on one of the many phone calls I have had to make to your... Was intrested in moving away from Talk Talk as they kept increasing the prices and was fed up went to a few providers and they all wanted a reconnection fee as apprently Talk Talk use thier own private network ( which explains the slow speeds) Time talk agreed to do it for free so made the switch. It was meant to be down for an but was off for a day so not happy about that but now the speed is very good and the price is cheaper. I think that all telcom companies are not good at... (read more)

I was a Talk Talk customer up until a couple of months ago. In August I went into what I thought was the TalkTalk web site to check my billing statement. I got a message on a web page to say there was a problem with my account and gave an 0800 number to ring. When I dialled the number I got an operator who claimed they were signing up customers to a new account. I then noticed the different name (TIME Talk). I told the operator that I still had time left on my current contract but I was told... (read more)

You dont have to be stuck with them.Phone Ofcom and fight it.I have the same trouble as you with them. They told me i would have to pay £350 to cancel the contract.I am back with Talk Talk and got the £90 disconnection fee returned. This is still ongoing.Even though i am back with Talk Talk ,Time Talk are still charging me ,so i am paying twice for phone calls at the moment.Time Talk dont send bills or letters.I had to cancel direct debit so they couldnt take any money.OFCOM HAVE SAID IF THEY CANT HELP I HAVE TO PHONE C.A.B.I cancelled Time Talk soon after they phoned when they saw my message to Talk Talk but they say i didnt cancel in time.

I wish I had read this review before i agreed to change to them. I agreed by default, I was on TalkTalk web page & a number popped up saying I had to ring this number as there was a fault on the line. I had agreed to a contract 'update' as I thought, before realising i wasn't speaking to talktalk. i then decided to give them a go. but got cold feet when no accompanying letter ever arrived. They then took money out of my account, before I was even with them, only a small amount but I wasn't told there were going to do this. I've rung & rung them to cancel, but can't get through. Must admit getting worried.

Hi Gillian,
same happened to me and seemingly to everyone else....Timetalk seem to operate in a world of their own....and think they can bully and intimidate people in order to get their own way.
Ed
Try email, although if you read my review you will see it is not any better as they dont seem to forward them to the relevant department....incidentally dont phone them up or you will be charged.....I fell for this one....they would not phone me back and it is a chargeable call....mine ran up to £22.+ and all of them were to their company.....what a con......

Hi Ed, thanks for your comment. I did try emailing time talk & wrote to them to an addressI found online. They don't answer anything. I was sent a threatening letter, there is no address on the letter & no signature. What a mess ! I'm now battling with Talk Talk as well, they said I'm going to be billed for £170 because I broke my contract, which I hadn't, I had been out of my contract for years. A member of talk talk team has said he will stop the money being taken out of my account. But I am not holding my breath. I did manage to speak at long last to member of Time Talk, he was unbelievable, said I must have gone on to their web-site. I did not, their number 'popped up' when I was logged into my TalkTalk account. Telling me to contact them straight away as I had a fault with my line. They are just conmen.

Thanks Ed for your reply, I did answer straight away but for some reason it wasn't printed !! I did email Time Talk on several occasions also wrote, address on web-site, but never got an answer. I contacted Talk Talk to cancel the switch over. ?They assured me it was no trouble, received two letters off them saying they had been successful & there would be no disruption to my service. Time Talk got me disconnected gave me a new number, didn't even have a letter off them welcoming me to company. I rang Talk Talk, but had to re-register with them. no phone or internet for 10 days, Had to have a new phone number, & have had a lot of problems since. Now Talk Talk has taken £170 out of my account for breaking my contract. I didn't, I had been with them for years, & was years out of my contract. I did ring them & they assured me the money wouldn't be taken, but it was, this morning. It's fasy becoming a nightmare. Tried Ofcom, the email I've had to submit will not go through !!!

Hi Ed,
Thought I would give you an update. TalkTalk did take £170 out of my account for breaking my contract, but had a phone call boxing day to say that I am being reimbursed for that amount. I hadn't heard any more from TimeTalk for a while, but before the holidays had a letter saying they need my phone number to contact me. I will only be speaking to them by letter. I did eventually manage to speak with someone from TimeTalk just after I had been cut off. ( only time ever) His arguments were ridiculous, refused to believe their number popped up while I was viewing my TalkTalk account. Then was asked what colour the number was ?? I told him all this had happened 2 months before, & if I had remembered colour, what;s the betting whatever colour I said he would have said it was another colour. This is only a sample of the ridiculous things he was saying, So they can put their arguments in writing in future. It's their fault I had to have a new landline number, which I won't be giving to them. At least I stopped my direct debit straight away, so they haven't been able to take any money out. Phew. Regards Gillian

P.S. The final chapter. TalkTalk put £170 back into my account this morning, I also had an email from TimeTalk to say that my account has been closed. What a relief, nice way to start the New Year. But it goes to show that some people will try & bluff you, & bully you into paying up. I was told I would have to pay TimeTalk approx £400 for not going through with the sign up. I hope everyone else gets their money back. You have to tough it out & threaten back. I was lucky TimeTalk didn't get any money from me.
Regards , Gillian

Hi Gillian ,,
I dont know if this reached the system as i hadnt logged on but if it hasnt ...i suggested that you write all the details down on a document on the pc and save it for later....keep all correspondences even emails and when the time comes if they take you to court you will be forearmed and able to give a coherent report of events without looking as if you are just dodging their charges.
Ed

Hi Ed,
Fortunately for me, it's all been sorted out. I have received all money owed from TalkTalk & TimeTalk have apologised for the 'mistake' & the matter is closed. They never did get any money out of me. But I have kept all correspondence, just in case. I think the mistake TimeTalk made with me was that I never received any letter from them welcoming me to Time Talk & wasn't given a 'cooling off' period, which I am entitled to, by law. And I cancelled them straight away.
I wish everybody else all the best.
Gillian

I feel great sympathy for your situation and am in a similar one myself, my reviews are listed on this site too....Ed Ridsdale, and I feel I am about to get the legal approach too very soon.....will not back down though and hopefully like you I will persuade enough people to avoid them like the plague..
I cancelled with 20 days of going live on the phone and 10 days of going live on broadband.....if you can call 0.5Mbit speed going Live....
up to now they have had no money off me and I will be damned if they get any without a good fight....I am not a frail old lady or man who can be intimidated.
Ed
good luck

Word for word I had almost the same experience. I never gave permission for Time Talk to take over my services, they got hold of my details by telling me an outright lie, i.e. that they are part of Talk Talk who was my ISP at the time. No body notified me about what was happening and I was not aware until I found myself without a phone line or internet, when I questioned TalkTalk they said that my account with them was closed because I had given Time Talk permission to take over my services. I wrote a review which has been withdrawn because someone did not like the truth!

When Talk talk cut me off, I was surprised, that when I found out that Timetalk had not cancel, they tried to talk me back into it ( timetalk ) I said again I wanted to cancel. I said yes (Thinking they was my provider TalkTalk ) when asked for my bank details for direct debit i thought NO.... something not right, I tried to cancel but when calling 0845... i was told to call 0845.... after over 5mins on hold they disconnected me....STAY WELL CLEAR FROM TIMETALK.

I am in the throes of trying to extricate myself from Time Talk's clutches. The only way they got hold of me was by lying and telling me that they were part of TalkTalk, I cancelled everything within 15 minutes of giving them my details , amazingly they cannot now find that telephone conversation, although they seem to have a record of my original conversation with them! They are liars and cheats ABSOLUTELY steer clear, give them as wide a birth as possible. I just wish I had!

I had previously slated the company on these reviews, however, , they have now supposedly sorting out my contract fee with talk talk. The good thing about timetalk is the speed is good and stable, and you have a uk based call centre. They also charge bandwith for downloads AND uploads so that can be hazardous.. They seem like they havn't quite got their foot on the pedal yet, but are slowly getting there. (read more)

This sounds very familiar to the situation that I found myself in....while trying to contact Talktalk i found a banner on my screen saying there was something wrong with my account and to phone the number on the banner.....big mistake.
I found out 5 minutes later I was not talking to talktalk but to timetalk and they gave me the same bull about saving me money and quick changeover etc and it has not been sorted yet .....6 weeks later.
I am having broadband speeds akin to dial up....less than 1 M and falling whereas I received 13.5 M with talktalk.
They said it may be down to my line.....wierd...it was fine with talktalk.....they sent out the BT guy who changed my master socket but said i should contact the provider as he could not understand why it was slow on the internet when his equipment said i should be getting 15.5 M.....
Now Timetalk technicians state there is a fault on the servers and will be sorted by the end of the week.....I don't believe it.......
I would advise anyone thinking of joining them to wait a year or two till things get sorted out and settle down.....or you will be stuck like me and many others with a rubbish service.

that's great news for anyone being bullied by these types of rogues :-) fortunately for me I cancelled my direct debit when I cancelled my order as I smelt a rat! It was called Time Talk! They "waived" my bill in an attempt to appease me but that's not good enough given they hijacked my line for 3 months and I didn't want their service to begin with. So we'll see if CISAS put them in their place at last. Someone has to.
