Been with TT for quite a few years, although my father is the a/c holder i have always dealt with matters like these for him! Recived a phone call a year ago, and were happy to speak to me (not the account holder) regarding the service they provide! I said although weve had the odd small issue we were satisfied overall! 2 weeks ago i called up and requested the security number to allow my sisters mobile to use our wii fi connection (this is normally on the back of a router but not in our case), and was instructed to plug my laptop directly into my router. I follwed her instructions and 10 minutes later my internet connection was no more! After over an hour of re-starting both laptop and router at least 5 times each she admitted she didnt know what to do! No offer of a send out a technition or anything that would help get my service back up and running! Futhermore she landed the blame in my laptop as apparently my router is fine (i did explain it seemed strange that neither of the 2 mobiles in the house that were previsouly connected to the wii fi are also now 'broke' as they wouldnt connect either)! So after over an hour i finally gave up and called another provider who were cheaper and arraged to get our broadband swapped!
We then recived a letter off TT saying that as we were going to another provider we would have to pay a fee of £144! I called to quiery this and was told we are in a 2 year contract after speaking to me a year ago! Funny how they signed us up for 24 months without mentioning that fact or without talking to the account holder, but they wont supply me with basic information regarding my router without speaking to my father 1st! It seems rules and data protection doesnt need to be applied when somthing suits them!
Also been speaking to them this eveing regarding this £144 fee (without my fathers verfication as he was out) & although they didnt give me any account details he told me that if he spoke to the a/c holder then they would send an engineer out to fix my broadband and then i wouldnt have to leave them! Thet aggreed an engineer for friday as long as they could speak to the account holder to confirm this! As my father wasnt around they couldnt book one! After Asking him to explain why he wouldnt book an engineer to repair our broadband service (as he is now paying for a service they are unable to provide) but would sign him up for a 24 month contract without uttering a word to him, i got accused of 'throwing accusations around'! I soon ended the phone call!
10 minutes later my father was back so i called again, (exactly the same numer) they verfied my father and i requsted an engineer, to then be told he couldnt book me one as they have all gone home! And to call back tomorow! Again this means re-verfiying my father even though he gave his permission to talk to me tomorow as he is now working away for 3 nights!
This really frustrated me and i told him i just wanted this dealt with and wanted to make a formal complaint! Guess what i couldnt do that either as he was the only person left and i needed to call another number!
If you ask me talk talk is a joke, terrible customer service & staff that dont know what there doing! My dad may loose £144 but its a small price to pay to get away from talk talk!
