I have just signed to talktalk recently after a long time with sky. Talking use of the reduced price line rental and disconted essentials package with unlimited usage I signed up online. Subsequently reading all the negetive comments I was a bit apprehensive. My broadband and outgoing calls were active 2 days before my activation day not sure how. Engineer did visit on day he was supposed to come but acc to wife did just check everything was ok and did not do anything. Not sure why talktalk paid him £50? Incoming calls very active on that day about lunchtime. My broadband speed was initally hit and miss. Although the speeds showed about 10mbps down and 0.8mbps up iplayer and streaming videos were stalling frequently. I called up customer services (phillipines) and the guy I spoke to did understand that with the same cabling etc I was able to get good speeds before so did not ask me reset my router or chnage the cabling etc but escalated the problem to technical services. In about 2 hours the braoadband has been working flawlessly and I can watch iplayer hd and youtube hd videos without any problems. Also my internet account did not show unlimited downloads initially but after one call to customer services I was assured I was entitled to it and my customer page reflected the same as well. All in all much better customer service even though based in phillipines than sky. Never has any problems understanding their English.
