I cancelled my ‘old box’ contract to take effect on 30/04
Agreed that installation of my partner’s new ‘SkyHD’ box would have a morning installation after they requested us to take a whole day off work to ‘wait’ for the engineer to turn up anytime between 8am and 5pm.
Tuesday 17th April – my partner’s new sky HD box is installed. Phone line and broadband scheduled to go live on 18th April
Wednesday 18th April – old phone line cancelled and new line is working – for some reason they couldn’t use the same line/number. New broadband unlimited router plugged but didn’t work. We call SKY and they re-install old broadband for time being
Thursday 19th April – old broadband still in use with new phone line, TV working. Still no sign of new broadband working
Friday 20th April – New phone line stops working, old one can’t be reconnected. Old broadband unlimited (and NEW!) doesn’t work as we have no phone line. Spent an hour on phone to sky (from the mobile phone because landline doesn’t work anymore!) they advised that we will not receive broadband until the 30th April until the old contract is finished. Now left with no broadband unlimited they instructed me to go and buy a dongle for £25 which they will credit me in next month’s bill (??!!)… and no landline. Dongle choice of O2, Vodafone and 3Mobile = £25 to £35 ???
Purchased £30 3Mobile dongle at shop after long day at work and returned home to find our NEW Sky+HD Box is now not working either. Another hour on the mobile phone to Sky Customer Service (if you can call it ‘service’) and we are told it will be 2 weeks before the engineer comes out to fix the new Sky+HD Box installed only on Tuesday and we’ll need to take another day off work to wait for them as they cannot guarantee a morning visit…………………………………
In summary:
We’re paying for two Sky services and I have nothing to show for it!!!!
-Old contract cancelled a week early than agreed
-New contract (Sky+HD Box, telephone line & broadband unlimited) doesn’t work
This has been ANOTHER unbelievably stressful Sky experience.
