Maybe they're a victim of their own success? It takes SO LONG to get through to customer support. 50 minutes on the phone (I gave up twice) and half an hour on their chat line, that is too bad. And they must have a low standing with Openreach, for issues with the line (again and again) are put on hold for a week, despite that I told them Openreach had caused the line to break when they were up the pole outside our house. That has happened a few times. Moreover, I have an Apple computer and Plusnet have stepped down their Apple support. Help Assistant is not available any more and some customer team staff have no ideas how to help you putting email issues right on a mac. I had to search and find out myself. I cannot wait till my contract is over to change provider.

I surprised you expect your ISP to fix your IT issues, I think you'll find most ISP's will just tell you where to go if you ask them for it.
