I was nearly daft enough to sign up to this so-called company but from the first day of dealing with this riot it was a very lucky escape when you call them you have to wait almost 30mins to talk to a useless person who in my opinion probably couldn't spell his name.had no information on my setup Date took my first payment on the 4th Nov and I have called on 3 different times after waiting 30mins+ asking when I will get my refund and I'm still waiting for it which is now the 29th Nov worst… Read Full Review

PROS: If all you want is phone line rental with no inclusive calls plus broadband and you're able to pay a year or more's subscription upfront, Origin Broadband is the ideal value for money choice. Bolt-on options are available for inclusive calls if required but override providers such as 18185 are permitted. Broadband speed is exactly the same as with previous provider Plusnet, possibly because Origin uses the Plusnet network. Full marks to Customer Service also. Rock steady connection (no disconnections whatsoever). Download rate is just a tad lower than average - but nothing that is going to cause any concern (believe me it is well worth taking a slight decrease on your download rate to ensure that your connection is always stable, rather than flying on the edge to get that bit more speed but always losing connection). Some providers give you assurances that they give "good old fashioned service" and hail from some rural idyll where they wouldn't even think of employing the sort of business practices that the main players do. Almost all fail in this regard. They leave you stranded if you have a problem late at night and in this world of shift working that can be a difficulty. I'm stuck in a contract with this farce of a company which I can't leave without paying them hundreds of pounds. Customer service is non existent and the speeds I get are a joke, fibre is supposed to be fast right? Wrong, completely missold the speeds and the support can't or won't help. “Like for like changeover”

I ordered a standard broadband and phone service with Origin at the end of July. The completion of my order was received at the start of September. Origin arranged the changeover from BT, without fuss. I did not have to contact BT at all. My only criticism, is that Origin were not as communicative about my order progress as I would have liked. On change over day for broadband could not set up so at 7.30am on a Sat morning got help from a English speaking advisor and set up broadband .Not had any problems since and as we can only get standard broadband have not noticed any drop in service hope this keeps up and as broadband is free for 12months we think this is a great deal thanks origin… Read Full Review

I have had origin broadband since the 19/09/2016. Ever since I've had the service the connection drops atleast 3 times a day. The connection isn't as fast as the 78MB that I'm paying for. I'm getting 64MB more realistically after running an Ookla test. I've phoned up their technical support who keep on asking me to take my front plate of my master socket off and plug my phone line in. I am using the ASUS DSL-N16 at the moment. I have the Origin Fibre that has speeds up to 76MB. Which modem router do you recommend?

Decided to change from the post office net after years of keeping with them. Their prices were going up constantly and the speed was slowing down so decided to change. Was a bit concerned at first having heard a few bad things about switching over to origin. But decided the price should be worth it in the end. I was very wrong. i have to say that origin customer service are not the best , I contacted orgin on the 20/09/16 and aske d them to connect me , they then give me a date for connection ,4/10/16 , so far so good you would think , not so , they said I was connected when I was not , so I rang up to cancel a service I did not receive remember , and they then said that if I cancel they would charge me 325 pound for something I did not receive , so be careful everyone , they will have no hope of getting 325 pound… Read Full Review
