I am the IT manager for a SME, whilst on holiday the Daisy rep called to speak to the directors. The rep bamboozled the directors into signing for a "telephone system upgrade" based on a VOIP solution, that was apparently going to save the company money. In fact, what they had signed for was a hugely expensive lease on a VOIP gateway that would have cost the company £17,000 in total, plus line rental/call charges.

I got back from holiday and fortunately the cooling off period was still in force. When I read what the rep had got the directors to sign, I was horrified. We are a rural company and our broadband is at best 3 megs maximum - completely unsuitable for VOIP. So if we had gone for the proposed solution we would have had dropped calls, and Dalek-like call quality. Needless to say, I cancelled the contract and complained. Unbelievably they tried to hold us to it.

Because of this, we have moved our lines and calls package back to BT. We also have 7 mobiles which are out of contract imminently and guess what? We have to pay £500 "Buyout" if we want to move and don't want to wait for the 90 day small-print notice period that applies on expiry of the contract, plus an incredible £30 per PAC code - a total of £700!

WAY TO GO DAISY! This is not a formula for success. Use aggressive sales tactics to sell inappropriate solutions, and then penalise your customers when they want to leave.... Thank God there are sites like this where you can express your frustration with what is probably one of the worst experiences with a telecoms company in my entire 26 year career. Don't touch them with a bargepole.

I'm very sorry you're unhappy and have left Daisy. I'd like to investigate this further as you make some very serious claims, which if true need to be dealt with asap!
