For a year-long contract valued at £15 a month, I get a service that is at constant risk of losing connection, and even when said connection persists, the quality I receive is at times comparable to the old days of dial-up. I'm reassured to see so many bad reviews of this sorry excuse for a provider, and hopefully BT's ever-dwindling reputation will drive it to make positive changes. If there was any other service available for me, mark my words, I wouldn't give BT a second thought. It's not an exaggeration to say that BT is far and away the worst internet company I've ever dealt with.

I purchased this wifi and paid 40£ and ended up not using much of it. There is always a issue either it logs in but there is no internet or other issues. Very disappointed!

This is waste of time. There are more than one BT Wifi FON wifi signals to connect to but NONE of them are any good. Yes you can connect and you have wifi BUT it will it may last a minute, if you're lucky 5 but no more than 15 and then lose the connection and go through the whole login process again. And again. And Again. My Apple Mac faired best but our iPhones were hopeless. So unreliable. Not possible to use this except for getting short messages or emails. Such a waste of time and money.

Slowest internet I've ever bought, will not work at all. Works for literally a few seconds then goes down. DON'T SPEND YOUR MONEY ON IT. If your looking for a wifi buy bt wifi, the normal one, NOT FON!!!!!!!

No idea what the other reviews are going on about. When I house-sit for my parents, who don't have a proper internet connection, I always get BT Fon for the 2 weeks or so I'm there. Sometimes it's more reliable than others (some years it's absolutely perfect, like a proper home connection, and others it doesn't work quite as well and you sometimes have to phone their customer support). And this is in a flat that generally gets poor reception. Their customer service is freephone and polite and friendly. It is really expensive though, no arguments there.

Absolutely shocking! Before I purchased it, it worked every day! I paid for 3 months and it CUTS OFF every single day!! Don't waste your money! I bought it as I'd moved house and needed something temporary until my usual wifi provider could install it- wish I'd have waited! I'll be formally complaining as this isn't good enough! Save your energy, cash and time and stay without it. Just another marketing ploy!

I recetly move to new place without WiFi so I wanted to try BT fon it show on my mobile and pc signal very strong and speed 58Mbs, for a week or two I was checking it. So I made decision to try out for one day nearly £7 well if will it work I can make contract for a year. What a surprise after pay I getting every few minutes limited access (no Internet) on pc as well on mobile. Before paying it didn't happened. Good waste of many.

The BT wifi with Fon service is better than absolutely nothing, but it is a very patchy, unreliable service that drops off frequently and is very slow otherwise. You would be better off spending the money at a local pub that offers free wifi.

This is not only a waste of money..its a waste of your time. I have spent more time logging in and out than actually using the internet, I am furious. They are robbing people. It should be illegal for them to charge money for nothing. Discraceful.

I also tried to use this service in between moving flats, utterly garbage signal, speed like a sloth with a hang over ! Do Not Buy BT have a cheek offering purely fabricated net access...At best you might get one hour crashing and connecting, it's the worst service I have ever tried wireless ... I did get a refund but only for half the amount of one month fee, there is nothing good I can say at all about this service other than the hold music is not the worlds most offensive... Stay sane go elsewhere or be angry and frustrated like a sloth with no Beer! Please write to BT anyone we will march together :/

As everyone says, this is a terrible service. Unreliable and slow. They really should be brought to account for this level of shoddy service. Oh, guess what. I can't post this because the service has gone down again and I'll have to spend five minutes trying to reconnect...

Most times you pay 8 for 24 hours pffft 15 mins tops . No direct route to assistance or help just more frustration . Heed my warnings steer clear

I signed up and paid 18 pounds for this service only to find it didn't work at all. When I called up to get a refund they couldn't find my details and so wouldn't process the refund. So it cost me 18 pounds for absolutely nothing. Totally hopeless customer service to top it off. I'd stay well clear if you can

well bt fon for me is slow, utterly unpredictable, and for 8 pound a shot not worth the money, for me it is only worth around a generous 3 pound, bt should hold their heads in utter shame, greedy fat cats.

BT charged me £130 to activate a phone line that was active and they would not listen even though I gave them the phone and account number with BT. If you can avoid BT do so their customer service is run by Robots they do not listen they just say what they are told to say. Once my contract is finished then I will find another provider.

I used this service two years ago when I first moved to Edinburgh. Back then, the service was shoddy and unreliable. Currently, I'm between flats and needed temporary wifi....let's just say there have been no improvements at all. Beware. :(

Well what can I say Ive just signed up to BTWifi-with-FON for £15 a month on an 18 month contract and I am now kicking myself for doing so! The connection I have with 5 bars signal strength on my laptop is very poor indeed. It's like going back to the days of a dial up 56k modem! What you are actually doing is sharing a public connection on a neighbours Homehub. This is ok if the Homehub is next door but, the problem is you just don't know where the Homehubs are located & it would appear you can not rely on the signal strength as an accurate indicator to the quality of the connection you will get. My android phone will only connect if I walk to the bottom of my drive & the laptop often drops it's connection which is obviously very frustrating. Another thing BT don't tell you is that if your Homehub is turned off by the owner you will loose your connection until it is turned back on again! So if your neighbour who owns the Homehub goes on holiday for two weeks bye bye Internet. Unless of course you want to drive around with your laptop scanning for a good signal! If you must have mobile Internet access you can buy 5 days for £18 this is the far better option, I am so annoyed I didn't do this because knowing what I now know I would never have signed up to BTWifi.

Absoluteltely no connection to speak of. I spent £6.00 for a connection that didnt give me enough bandwidth to log into internet banking let alone streaming anything. Leave well alone dont be so stupid to believe that BT is actually repudible
