“Different flavours”

★★★☆☆

written by ladybug12 on 15/12/2020

I like this cereal because it contains so many flavors and nuts. But sometimes i have found shells in the cereal which was very disappointing.

“no more clusters ?”

★★☆☆☆

written by MarkCiolli on 05/11/2018

Tesco have changed the recipe again. Clusters have been replaced with cream coloured, banana shaped fillers ! They have no taste or nutritional value. This has ruined what was an excellent, value for money product. The package says the product was produced in Belgium.

“Best Maple & Pecan”

★★★★★

written by on 01/10/2016

Tesco Maple & Pecan the best - I have tried all others too but this is surely the best. Why have you changed it to 'Four Nuts' - it's not the same and definitely not trying it again. Please bring back Maple & Pecan I have had it for over 20 years! Even my children liked Maple & Pecan.

“cereal killer”

written by herb1e on 07/10/2013

I agree with you all. this new recipe has cheapened the product and you notice it doesn't say improved recipe as would be false advertising . The pecan nuts are now a rare ingredient in my box that I bought a bag of pecan nuts to compensate .

“what has happened?”

The 'new' recipe tastes and looks as if has been swept up off the floor. 90p more expensive too - I don't think I will waste my money on this again.

“Why ruin a good thing”

★☆☆☆☆

written by 1solution on 03/08/2013

This used to be my favourite cereal but some bright spark decided to fix what was not broken and change the recipe! the result? It now tastes cheap you no longer get the quality 'crunch' instead the texture reminds me of soggy Quavers. Tesco fix this! I used to buy bucket loads of this cereal have not bought a pack since I was hoodwinked with the new receipt.

“New recipe is horrible, bring back the original”

★★☆☆☆

written by on 22/07/2013

Once I bought the tesco value range version which was awful, now this 'new recipe' is just the same as the value one - awful. Except it costs more! Tastes cheap and I hate those big clumps in it. The original was delicious, bring it back. Asdas version is now better.

“Maple & Pecan Fake?”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 30/05/2013

In my opinion... Maple 'flavour' is insipid. Pecans 7% - not enough. Crisp - no, not like it used to be. Rice - too much. No lovely crunichiness anymore. Price - higher! Value for money - lower. Agree- ruined! Used to buy one packet a week, but shan't be doing so anymore.

What have you done!!!!? Tesco, change it back the new recipe is awful. Take away all those rice krisps and bring back the chunks of pecan and oats

“They've changed the recipe and it is now dire”

★★☆☆☆

written by on 12/03/2013

I'm not sure what Tesco have done here but this used to be my favourite cereal but they've changed the recipe now and it's completely different and seems to have gone from being a good quality product to appalling. I'll have to shop elsewhere for my cereal now.

“trace salt”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 03/12/2012

got these from Tesco to try they taste like I had pored salt on them. The packaging says they have trace amounts of salt, but it tastes like it has 50% salt and no Maple could be a bad batch but not trying the again to find out The only nice bits was the big chunks of pecan nuts. If it was not so salty and had more maple flavour to it I think this could be a great cereal

“Delicious cereal, never boring, but now costs 40p more”

★★★★★

written by on 26/01/2012

I have bought the Tesco Maple & Pecan Crisp cereal for a few years and I am never bored with it. It is delicious, especially with honey. I would recommend this product. The price of it has just gone up, though. It used to cost £1.09 but it is now £1.49, a massive 40p rise in price, for the same size box. However, Tesco also sell the very same product under a different and new name, and made for Tesco. It is next to their own higher priced brand on the same shelf. The new one costs £1.19, just 10p more than their own brand used to be. I can take a rise of 10p but 40p? That is too much. I contacted Tesco and was told that their own brand had been previously on sale at the higher price. I told them I had been buying it for at least two years and have never seen it at £1.49 before. Whatever, at least I can still buy it, at £1.19, and the new name doesn't matter.
