My Wife's car broke down recently but this company would not send a recovery vehicle as my Wife had no debit or credit card with to pay the £40 excess! We received emails, policy wordings and policy summaries, all saying what to do in the event of a breakdown but there was no mention of paying the excess up front, except on page 9 buried in the VERY small print. Why was an important bit of information like that not made obvious and included early on in the sections "what should I do if I breakdown"?! When I complained, I was kept waiting on the phone for 15 minutes, the staff didn't give a toss and were very rude and unhelpful. This is the worst company I have ever had to deal with. I have now cancelled both my policies (with no refund) and have got a breakdown policy that WILL come out to rescue my car when needed!

I have already spoken to several people within your company, one of them a supervisor, and other than being given and address to WRITE to to complain (and verbal complaint wasn't enough!), no help was given or interest in my complaint shown. I am not going to waste any more of my time speaking to you people - I did consider a complaint to the Ombudsman but that would have meant dealing with you lot first, and I have far more important things to be doing. I have now gone with STARTRESCUE - they have given me great customer service, have no excess to pay and WON'T leave their customers stranded! You could learn a lot from them!

Youll be better off with start rescue. I used to be a call handler and i did actually used to help people. Sadly I'm stuck with rescuemycar as it came with my car insurance and in the 4 days I've been with them Im having issues already :)

I had the same experience as your wife this morning, they wanted me to transfer £75 from my savings to my current account so I could pay over the phone, my personal phone battery died trying to do it so they refused to come and get me and they had depleted my work phone battery substantially by this time - I was really starting to panic and had to get my boyfriend to ring around and get an alternate recovery company to come and get me off the side of the road :-(

It's disgusting how this company operate - they are prepared to hide behind small print and abandon people when they really need help. I have had no communication from Rescuemycar (or not, as it seems!) regarding my complaint, so they obviously don't give a damn about resolving customer complaints. Try startrescue for your breakdown cover - they are honest.
