My partners diesel Corsa's battery was flat one morning, the voltmeter showed 8 volts. a recovery vehicle arrived within 30 minutes but the driver only wanted to recover the car to his garage. He reluctantly tried to jump start the car, she had to show him where to attach the battery leads and how to use the glow plugs as he didn't understand . after 1 attempt to start the car he said the fuel pump had failed because he couldn't smell petrol from the exhaust.
I spoke to him asking how he had come to this conclusion, the reply was "I know about cars" he said he wasn't allowed to dismantle anything to prove his theory and its illegal to carry any aerosols such as easy start and wasn't going to use the tin in my shed.
she sent him away.
euro car parts replaced (delivered) the 3 month old battery under warranty same day,the fuel pump is still working. what information did the switch board pass on to the recovery company ? at the very least they got someone out quickly just the wrong person on this occasion.
