Disgraceful

In Jan 2015 I was travelling to visit relatives in the Derbyshire Peak District when I had a blow out and ended up with my two near side wheels on a grass verge. As the ground was sodden I was unable to get the car off as my wheels kept spinning. After many attempts to gain traction I had no option but to call Autonational. I have two cars on the policy and made it clear to the operator which car was stranded. I was told that they would contact a local garage who would text me with an ETA. Ten minutes later I received the text and was told they would be with me in approximately one hour. After 75mins when no one had arrived I phoned the garage who said that they had sent someone out but they hadn't seen the car. It transpired that the operator had told them that it was the other car on the policy. Having put them straight they said they would be out immediately. By this time it had been snowing heavily for over an hour, the temperature was -3% and we were stuck 10 miles from civilisation. It was getting dark and we were quite frankly terrified as vehicles were passing within inches of us. No rescue vehicle ever arrived and had it not been for a passing motorist in a van with a rope who pulled us back on to the road I have no idea what would become of us.
A couple of weeks later the car refused to start so I called them out again. This time someone did turn up but said he couldn't identify the problem as he wasn't a mechanic! but did say that the problem was serious as the engine management light had come on (which was rubbish as it didn't have a bulb behind it).
The dreadful incompetence of this organisation could have cost my wife and I our life. Please pay a bit more and get a reliable service.
