After being an AA customer for 15 years and no call outs for the past 5 I have had to call the AA out on 2 occasions in the past month. On the 1st occasion the call centre staff couldn't have been less interested. In fact they were downright rude! The mechanic arrived an hour later than promised and was only interested in trying to sell me a new (unnecessary) battery for £90!
On the 2nd occasion they refused to come out to me (a lone female) as the classed my car fault as being down to a collision when all I had done was driven slowly over a speed bump. My mechanic says it was actually a suspension fault which would have happened whether I had gone over a speed bump or not. The AA would have known this had they not flatly refused to help me as soon as they heard the words 'speed bump'! I am completely shocked by their service and will be cancelling all my products with them.
It seems that the AA are only interested in making money now which is a shame after so many great years of service. Unless you are lucky enough to live/work somewhere with no speed bumps, AVOID THIS COMPANY!
