I ordered a book online to be delivered in instore since the price was a little more competitive (24£ instead of 30£). Now I did my homework and research prices online before buying so I thought I could save myself the trouble by just picking it up instore. When I came in this morning to pick it up, they said the book hasn't arrived yet, but I checked on their shelves and they had at least 50copies of it! I ask the store clerk why can't he grab an instore copy and call it a day but he said no they had to wait until the online order has arrived which could take who knows another 3-5 days while they have it on their shelves. It's a completely rubbish system. I don't really care about their overhead being different between online and instore, the price should be similar no matter where you buy it under their brand name. Would Apple sell higher price laptops than instore? This isn't how you organize your business and grow your brand. As far as I'm concerned, I will never buy from WATERSTONES ever again whether online or instore. I will only walk in to check the books and then order it from AMAZON. I hope they go bankrupt and close down because their service and system is a complete waste time and money.
