I bought a Worcester Bosch boiler a few years ago now. Trying to change the timer on the machine proved very difficult and the manual was awful. Even the engineer who fitted the machine couldn't fix it. He told me to just turn it up when i needed it. SO we have not had central heating in the morning for over 2 years. Decided I can't bear it so I phoned today to get another engineer round. They told me they would charge £315! I am unemployed and your manual is apauling! How can anyone understand it! What about pensioners who have no income and need help with their boilers through winter? That is a HUGE amount of money. I am very disappointed if I had the money I would rip the thing out and go back to British Gas.

Your installer should have educated you on the use of the programmer, the instructions are ok, the engineer should take the time to learn about the product before installing it.

The installer did educate me, can't help it if I can't figure out the manual. So all I got from Worcester Bosch when I wrote to them was a manual photocopied in the post. No response to my comment that to call out one of their engineers to help me would cost me £315. Even if that is my fault I can't figure it out, what about an ELDERLY person. It's disgusting customer service and a complete rip off. Clearly you sound like you work for them and are biased - I won't defend a company that has appalling after care service. You are entitled to your opinion and I am entitled to mine.

Funny how my comment goes to the moderators, bet they don't print a negative review.

My comments went via the moderators too, I own a central heating company and we often install Worcester Bosch boilers, the instructions are no worse than any other, most manufacturers would send a copy instruction manual and all would charge to call out to a problem not covered by the guarantee, none of them would cover a persons inability to understand instructions, and it was after all 2 years after you bought it! Your 'never buy from these people' statement is a bit harsh when you dont have a valid problem with the product? I wouldnt need to be biased to see that.

I agree the manual is full of tecnical inforamtion. I think that Worcester Bosch thinks that all consumers are boiler engineers. A simple section of Trouble shooting would help and ease the consumers panic especially in the winter months. Employ a Japanese manual writer.... no wonder they (JApanese) are able to sell their goods anywhere in the world.

Thank you someone who Agrees with ME!
As to Derekgas - my point was that I was happy to PAY but £315 is ridiculous and mean. Nobody in this economic climate can afford this for a callout charge. Think about elderly people who can't even see the manual let alone understand it.
If they had been a little more helpful of course I wouldn't have posted a negative review. Shop in M&S for example - great reputation - do you want to know why - they have GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE.
