Had this fitted by Gov scheme and now paying to have my old boiler re installed. This boiler is to be polite, rubbish. It's noisy, it takes ages to turn itself off. Bath water will not heat beyond 42 unless I turn taps to a dribble. DO NOT Buy and if on a scheme, find out what bookers are on offer and avoid this one. It's worth mentioning my boiler prior was also a Ideal 30 but an older model that was not digital and did the job perfectly. Very unhappy.

I have this boiler in the house we purchased recently and it is absolute an irritating piece of equipment. You happen to touch hot water tap accidentally just on/off (like a sec) and this thing keeps running for 5 min wasting gas. You turn off the heating, again this thing keeps running for another 5 min, wasting gas. I wrote to the manufacturer and they said it is cycle and stuff, this is normal. No! It is not normal to waste gas. recruit proper designers and find a way of resetting or cycling this boiler without wasting gas and money. Oh and it world awful with smart home (using tado). Tado shows off but this guy has its own mind and keep running at random times.

Never had a problem with Ideal boilers, and if you follow the rules and fit everything that needs to be fitted, magna clean, lime reducer, shock absorber etc etc, and powerflush the system completely before fitting, you will have no problems. Trouble is Bob down the pub comes to fit them for 20 quid and a packet of smoke and all the problems then start! GET A FULLY QUALIFIED FITTER TO INSTALL

Had my Ideal Logic C30 combi installed this week (Jan 2020) by plumbers approved by the Government & independently checked/signed off, hence installed correctly. After only 1 day of approx 3 hours of usage the boiler stopped working, also needed to up the pressure but the design is so bad it's very very difficult to do, ridiculous. You need to connect the filling loop!! The filling loop is detached on the one end so you need to remove a cap and a clip (the clip is impossible to remove, I couldn't do it) then move the copper loop and try to screw it to the opening (but it doesn't screw/move), then open the valves to top up water. It's all located up underneath the boiler among the hot pipework, so you need to bend underneath the boiler & best to have tiny hands. Even the plumber said they are horrible boilers & dangers for users to top up the water/pressure. Now waiting for engineer to fix boiler and top up the water. Don't buy these boilers, go for a different brand.

Serves 9 radiators and a Mira shower in an average size bungalow. Installed in the airing cupboard in the center of the bungalow. It runs very very quietly, has very simple and accessible controls. It has a lot of bad reviews on other sites, but if installed correctly it is an excellent boiler. The heat and hot water output are more than enough. Previous boiler was a Boch and had a lot of problems over the years. I would recommend this boiler to everyone, but make sure the installers are competent

Well my heating engineer fitted NEW Ideal 30 + boiler to the wall installed all new pipe work filled with water. as a treat i purchased the ideal touch / wifi . a nice little touch. had the sparks come round wired it up turned it on. and. well you would not believe it. it does not work no heating no hot water. we checked to make sure no air in system checked to see if pump was working all o.k. so by know i am losing the will to live. so called ideal on the Thursday and they cannot come out until Monday. "I"ve got a good mind to remove it and take it back and ask for a refund. I new i should have purchased a Bosh.

Had a new central heating system fitted with New Logic + Combi 35 boiler. Lasted 10 months! Phoned Ideal fitter came out today and replaced gas switch and other parts. Still not working. Does not carry PCB (circuit board) so has to come back when he has one. Any boiler that breaks down after 10 months is a HEAP OF RUBBISH. DO NOT BUY IDEAL BOILERS. I wished I had bought Valliant or Worcester not the RUBBISH system I now have. I can't fault the fitter, but surely they should carry PCB as stock on their vans! Will be without hot water for at least 5 days! DISGUSTED. !!!!!

Had the boiler installed 2 years 4 months and it started leaking. Ideal want £289.00 to replace. The old boiler was 14 years old and never missed a beat. Thought the Ideal boilers were supposed to be top quality. Think not, can't see this boiler lasting 14 years. What a waste of £900.00 Spoke to Ideal customer services and wouldn't move on reducing rate as the boiler is out of warranty.

The heat exchanger spplit after four years and leaked water, which necessitated topping up water pressure daily until IDEAL replaced it costing me £275. It now heats water well but there is a constant, loud and annoying clicking noise coming from ( I can only guess) the new heat exchanger.I do not recommend these boilers at all. Also the pressure gauge is almost totally out of sight underneath the boiler. You have to bend and look up from underneath to view it. Go figure??

Had the logic 30 fitted 15 months ago,no problems at all, must admit we do have a good corgi reg engineer and I think that could be the problem for some people.we live in a two bed house terraced, the house is roasting and the water boiling, cheers

Installed this ideal logic boiler 6 months ago.have had a few engineers around to try diagnose issues from pressure droping. noisy fan.and digital thermostat not working properly.boiler also whistles when switched from off to on,"not even a nice tune"... LOL...what a piece of sh*t.now I'm going to replace it with a valiant.had one for over 3 years and not one issue wish I had stuck with them.... Oh well I'll try get some sleep now 3.38pm noisy fan in boiler....

We moved into a new build property in July 2016, and the boiler lasted all of 5 months before it decided to not let us have central heating. New PCB required (apparently), with little to no time-frame given as to when this will be sorted, or degree of urgency shown at any stage so far, not like it's -9 degrees at night or anything at the moment... Water takes ages to heat up properly too, wouldn't have picked out of choice.

Terrible service.new boiler broke down within 24hrs.Two hours trying to get through to customer services, then told it would be four days before somebody could come out to it,still waiting. No heating or hot water.stay away from a ideal boiler.

Had this for 3 years, serviced every year. No problems whatsoever. Heats up very quickly and is efficient. My gas bills have dropped significantly since installing this boiler.

Fine for the first 5 years, other than very susceptible to minor leaks from rad's which close the system down. Sixth year has been a nightmare. 1) boiler started to backfire like an old banger when firing up. 2) sprang a leak from inside the boiler 3) The heat exchanger went! Complained to Ideal but they weren't interested. Now have to pay about £300 to get it repaired via them! This boiler has cost me £500 this year - less than a year out of guarantee. One last gripe - the water pressure gauge is under the boiler and almost impossible to view properly - ludicrous design! I would not get this boiler again.

I agree entirely about the pressure gauge. Just stupid..also the heat ehchanger split on ours after four years. I thought it had a five year guarantee...no..it was two. I had to pay £275 to get it replaced. I now have a loud continuous clicking noise when the boiler is heating radiator water.. I have been told if it is the new heat exchanger then they will replace but only refund me half of the original cost to fix in the first place. I will not be recommending IDEAL to anyone.

Had the boiler fitted 3 years ago and from day one minor problems. Lack of hot water then having to top up the pressure every couple of days.Engineer called and replaced just about everything inside cover but said the problem was in the central heating system. Up came all the floor boards (underfloor heating) and pressure tested the heating system NO LEAKS!!!! engineer called again still unable to find the problem engineer convinced the heating system was at fault and was unable to repair/fix the problem. I've tried putting a sealer in the water side (a bit like radweld)that lasted about 2 weeks before pressure started to drop again. Looks like I'm going to have to buy a new boiler. Probably Baxi. And which idiot designed the pressure gauge to go under the boiler!!!

Read up about faulty heat exchangers ! it might be the problem. The water leaks out intio the condensate pipe and that is why engineers cannot find where the leak is coming from..Rubbish boiler.
I hope you have got yours sorted.

I've fitted many over the last 6 years, so have a lot of experience over the long term - I've now stopped fitting them due to Ideals poor back up on warrantee call outs and the boilers continuing problems. Ideal take extended amounts of time to get to customers who've boilers have gone down - up to a week in winter. Their engineers are VERY particular about the installs as well - unless EVERYTHING is perfect they will write a safety notice to the customer - even on tiny NCS issues - then charge £125 to come back and reinspect. Common faults on the boiler are - main heat exchangers splitting, diverter valve issues, flow turbine issues and fan injectors getting blocked: although I've experienced a lot of other varying issues. I'm returning to fitting Worcesters - more expensive but worth it in the long term.

Had this boiler fitted and I repeated had to add pressure to the filling loop everyday, Drops from 2 bar to zero in 24 hours. I have done this for 5 years now and also have to add inhibitor to the system every year to stop corrosion. I reported the fault to Ideal but they did nothing. I have now found out that the heat engine has a manufacturing fault in it which causes the boiler to leak pressure. I feel completely ripped off. I can't afford a new boiler. I want Ideal to publicaly admit and compensate for the misery they have caused. Take a look anywhere on the net and you will see nothing but misery and expense caused by Ideal. This boiler is a pipe of rubbishy never ever buy from these people.

I would not recommend this boiler to anyone who actually wants a boiler that works. As for customer care they are only reading from a card as it doesn't matter what you phone about it's the same reply . Boiler constantly requires to have pressure topped up and after only two years the circuit board failed. If you have money to waste this would suit. Total waste of money. I feel sorry for pensioners who have been given these boilers on the government scheme as it is just money money money. Most boilers are a 7 year guarantee but this one only gave 2 because they know they won't last longer than 18months.

This is a poor reviews and gives no real detail as to how boiler was installed etc.
I’ve fit 50 and all worked first time.
