“Big Mistake”

Written on: 25/11/2014 by Lamped12 (2 reviews written)

Had an Ideal logic 24 combi installed 4 years ago has never given the heat my last boiler gave and plus started to consume more gas thus costing more to run. So much for energy efficiency. Now wont produce hot water no doubt major repair bill....will have to consider replacing it, what a waste of money… Read Full Review

I have a ideal logic fitted in February 14. Can't wait to save enough to get rid of it. So noisy. I have ended up with electric heaters as I can hear the noise over my TV. Boiler in the cupboard under the stairs.

“DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY”

Written on: 04/11/2014 by ugHawkins149 (1 review written)

Had logic 30 fitted just over one year ago to replace a vaillant which we had for 20 years with very little trouble. From the day it was fitted it has been very noisy, you can here it where ever you are in the house had 3 ideal engineer visits none of them could fix it, in the end they said the noise was acceptable and washed there hands of it, it has a 2 year warranty and no problem with central heating or hot water. The first time it breaks down after the warranty runs out it will be replaced… Read Full Review

“Load of Rubbish do not waste your money”

Written on: 03/06/2014 by Jager (1 review written)

Logic + 30, I had this installed 4 years ago and its been nothing but trouble hardly a week goes by without the LCD showing an error, the only good thing about it is it came with a 5 year warranty & believe me you need a 5 year warranty, it's the worst mistake ideal made because it is forever breaking down, even the customer service is totally inept, stick with the known brands like Worcester or Bosch and leave these cheap and nasty boilers alone, I only wish the Heating Engineer had been… Read Full Review

You obviously know what your on about, as you state we should stick to Worcester or Bosch?! Firstly as a heating engineer , I always thought Worcester and Bosch were the same company?!
Secondly, I have fit more boilers than you've probably had hot dinners, and have had less faults with the Ideal Logics than I have had with any other boiler manufacturer - including Worcester er... Bosch!

“Working perfectly and great value”

Written on: 13/12/2012

We fitted a Logic Combi 30 2 years ago. Unit has been faultless and provides bags of hot water on demand. Would recommend this unit as it offers top performance at a very competitive price. Our installer initially had to be told to use this boiler (I had done my own research) and he wasn't at all keen. But now he tells me that he recommends Ideal Logic to all of his customers and has had great feedback from them all. He says easy to install, easy to use, very reliable. Ideal did have a poor… Read Full Review

I'm glad that your Ideal boiler is still working after 2 years and hope that you had the 7 year warranty (unfortunately, I didn't). I must have a 'Friday night' boiler. I think the factory were trying to go home early when they made mine. It's good to see that there may be some reliable models out there. If you do have cause to contact Ideal (and I truly hope you don't). Good luck.

“Broken down after 18 months”

Written on: 03/12/2012

I had a new heating system fitted 18 months ago. The heating engineer recommended an Ideal Logic Combi 30. I wish I'd done some homework before agreeing. I came home from work today and the boiler is showing an overheating fault and I have no heating or hot water. I didn't take out a servicing contract as the system was brand new (I've learned my lesson!). I have now had to call out a heating company. They are due out in the next few days and I'll see how much this is going to cost me to… Read Full Review

Heating engineer told me that the boiler should still be under warranty and advised me to contact Ideal. The boiler has a 2 year warranty. I've seen that Ideal are currenlty offering a 7 year warranty. With the experience I've had, they NEED to offer this although I'd be surprised if their products reach the grand old age of 7.

I'm onto my 3rd engineer visit and if they can't even diagnose and fix their own equipment it doesn't fill me with confidence.

Ideal take around 2 days to send an engineer and in total I've been without HW/CH for 3 weeks. Boiler doesn't run in programme mode, doesn't fire and the thermostat doesn't send a signal to the boiler. If the boiler does eventually fire it runs for a short time, overheats and shuts down.

I'm having to take time off work and am worried that when the warranty runs out in April next year I'm going to be left with a boiler that's not fit for purpose. I'm already googling the price of new boilers. I paid a lot of money for the boiler and heating system and am disgusted that this has broken down so quickly.

The way it's going I don't see the boiler lasting another winter. This was not a cheap system and I expected more than 18 months use. Disappointed, fed up, stressed and absolutely would NOT recommend an Ideal boiler to anyone.

You've been very unlucky. I had an Ideal Logic installed three years ago and no issues whatsoever. It replaced a Worcester Bosh that lasted to the grand old age of 6 years in spite of all the good reviews. In various properties I've owned, a Volkera lasted 7 years, a Goldstar 5 and a Vailant 10, so I just think combis don't last very long.

I notice Pimlico Plumbers are now offering a 10-year parts & labour warranty on the latest Ideal Logic model. This must suggest they're confident enough in its reliability.

Ideal offered a 7 year warranty on the Ideal Logic plus's during a short period in the back of 2012. The product comes with a standard 5 year warranty.
I only fit Ideal logic Plus's and do not have any issues. In many instances boilers breakdown because of bad systems and if it's already overheating i would suspect that the system was not flushed correctly!

Ideal logic would be under guarantee for 2 years if fitted correctly and serviced after 12 months, the logic plus have 5 or 7 seven year warrantys.
