Ideal Logic 30 never again.

I had one of these fitted in 2012 by a company I have used before and would use again.
As part of a complete heating system I failed to research the make having had Baxi and Potterton in previous houses. When I received the quote I queried why the company were using Ideal Logic 30 instead of Baxi and they told me Ideal were a really good make and I would be pleased.
Well, it was surprisingly noisy, but seemed OK other than that. The first snow came two weeks after fitting and it packed up. Engineer thought it needed a replacement part and went off to order one, never returned so called again, different engineer said it was possibly a frozen inlet thingy on meter, gasman said that it was not. Went back to the company and had words, suspected that this was a problem they have had before as the head man said he thought from what the first engineer said that there was a problem with the boiler and they would replace the whole thing and claim it back under the warranty. Which they did no problem.
Second Ideal Logic 30 fitted and just as noisy. Today, nearly three years (out of warranty) later it has packed up F 1 warning, tried as much as a I can to fix it but have to call out an engineer. Why on earth put the blooming pressure gauge underneath the boiler where you have to be a contortionist to read it?
My boiler is fitted just off the floor so I have to crawl under head first, not easy if you have mobility problems but this was the only place other than my bedroom it could be fitted.
Strangely enough though, it was working fine until I had a water meter fitted and logically this should not have made a difference but....
The Potterton lasted 17 years and the Baxi over 10 and as far as I know both could still be working fine. Whatever happens I am definitely getting an electric shower fitted if only to get warm :}
