Worst service I have had in a long time. Rude unhelpful and still without heating now for 5 days. They really don't care. I was excited to build the system up with all the extras but now all I want to do is send it back. Wish I had read the reviews first. Don't make the same mistake

The pricing to use this service is extortionate! Check out their prices, really high monthly fee for something that should cost a few pence at most. Basic fee is £5.99 a month (and READ small print £120 if you cancel!!) considering you can buy hosting for £1 a month and what this is providing is using a tiny fraction of that capacity, and remember most of the time you want even need to use a server for control (ie whenever you are at home) Hive is owned by British Gas (Centrica) who are well known for high prices, so only consider if you can afford to be ripped off!

Bit unfair. You signed up for the whole package with smart bulbs, paid for via subscription - it breaks even at month 32)
If you don't want the smart lights, you can just buy the heating smart app and hub for 119 pounds today, then its free forever.
The subscription model is for people who don't want to pay for the up front costs.
The cancellation fee in this plan means you get to keep all the equipment, which actually works out pretty cheap, certainly cheaper than buying all the devices off their website.
Hive Active heating is one of the better implementations of smart heating, not just here in the UK but globally.
