My 84 year old mother had blinds installed a few months ago and was very happy with the service provided by the fitter at the time. However, she paid by cheque and within 10 days or so was subjected to a barrage of phone calls from the finance office demanding immediate payment. This continued for several days leaving her extremely anxious and stressed (my husband did intervene to no avail). She was eventually bullied into sending a second cheque. With no apology whatsoever her second cheque was sent back to her with a brief note stating that she had paid twice. I would have expected profuse apologies for treating an elderly person like this.
