With the nights drawing in cyclists will be rummaging in draws and cupboards to dig out their lights. Many will struggle to even find them or like me, discover that they haven’t survived six months in storage. Bike lights are of course essential, so off I went surfing on Amazon, Ebay and various bike merchants looking for a combination of value but reliability. “Via Velo 1 Watt LED (front) bike Light”

My trusty CatEye Opticube HL-EL135 got water logged riding 14 miles in last nights heavy rain. The rain short circuited it. The CatEye was always a "be seen" light, not a light to "see" with. I needed a new light in a hurry and my local cycle shops / Halfords were closed. So I popped down to my local Tesco Extra (Toton, Notts 25/10/2011) to see what they had got.
