The appearance of the finish on the beds was the best part - it looks very good. However, it was a nightmare to erect. The instructions we were sent did not mirror the parts list (nor did the heading which was for an oak bed - we bought pine!). A couple of the slats were bowed, some were too short; we coped with these problems but the greatest difficulty was with the 2 support braces for the upper bunk safety rails. The support braces came with three holes pre-drilled. The middle hole was in the wrong place - it did not fall centrally with the middle of the lower of the safety rails, but was very close to the bottom of the safety rail so if we had screwed the support braces using the pre-drilled holes, there was every likelihood that the safety rails would be damaged. We asked for a replacement for the 2 braces with either just 2 holes or no holes. We thought that customer care had worked as we received a confirmation email, but the following day received a letter which stated it was not possible to comply with our request. Apparently we have to have pre-drilled holes even though the holes are pre-drilled in the wrong place!! No suggestions as to how we overcome this have been proffered.
