Expert advice..?

My mum needed an adjustable bed that was 'future proof' as we knew at some point that she would need to be hoisted in and out of bed by the carers at her assisted living apartment at some point in the future. We explained out requirements and were sold two single beds that were fixed together so that my dad could be with my mum at night. Her needs were increasing as she had poor mobility and dementia. The bed was delivered a week late and within a few days of delivery, her condition dramatically deteriorated and she needed to be hoisted. It turns out the carers couldn't use a hoist with the bed that we had been sold as it didn't raise up to waist height. Laybrook simply weren't interested in helping us. We had to have a hospital bed delivered for my my and my dad has been left with no space in the bedroom due to the fact that laybrook refused to take the mis-sold single bed back. I wrote to the MD who then promptly ignored my letter. We eventually spoke to him after several attempts initiated by ourselves and he couldn't see a problem with what had happened. My dad parted with £3,000 for a bed that met our needs for a few short days. So much for expert advice and so much for 'future proofing' customer service is clearly not a strength of this company. Be careful would be my advice....
