I bought a three seater sofa bed a few months ago and since day one I didn't like it. The sofa is very uncomfortable and as a bed even worse. The mattress has lumps so it is uncomfortable to sleep in. It is very hard to open/close, you need two very strong people to do so. Avoid buying anything from this company. (read more)

Store - Bristol Rude Manageress - Jenny Parsonage I purchased A Futon cover 12 months ago, After about 8 months I noticed it wearing thin in a couple of places, but not the area where I sit or use often, so returned it to the store only to be met with, we will have to get this 'tested'. I bought a king size bed and a sofa bed from the Futon Company online and both products broke within 3 months. Customer service is terrible, they often take a week to reply to a single email, and are unhelpful. They then decided to send a new part without telling me, to my old address, so I haven't had any solution yet. The products are expensive, but low quality and the service is awful. I regret buying from this company and recommend shopping elsewhere. (read more)

I called the shop about my order I wanted to collect it I was told I should have given notice. The person on the phone couldnt talk long as she had a customer I pointed out I was a customer too. I was spending nearly £600-00p Transaction went from bad to worse with the assistant quoting rules (theirs) giving the impression i should have known them. We made the terrible mistake of purchasing a bed from here. Ever since day one the bed has creaked loudly every time we move in our sleep waking us up. We have tried all the advice of the company and everything we could think of to fix the problem. We even had someone from the company come and look. Their response because one of the slats had broken where we were trying to make the creaking stop where it was made of poor quality wood... nope your fault nothing we can do. Please if you value... I had some business with this firm.
(1) Had to pay cash deposit as their machine had broken
(2) They would not accept the remainder by card on the phone
(3) I could only pay half on the phone and the person collecting it
had to pay cash or i must come in myself
(4) I must give sufficient notice to collect something and 'should have been told' this
(5) I was asked to make a choice of cover, when i said I would decide with the swatch at home this was accepted.
(6) i changed the colour which was not my choice anyway
When I came to collect i was informed that I must have my first choice. which I never chose anyway.
(7) My money back was refused.
(8) I was told I would have to wait 2 weeks more for the colour I had
phoned in with because they had not noted it down
(9) Again refused a refund even on the cover.
(10) Eventually the right colour was produced from stock and I was told this was preferable to my coming in again.
This shop is dearer than Heals- whose quality and service are infinitely better
thinks of the customer as an inconvenience
I cannot think how it has managed to be in business for 30 years

I bought a king size bed and a sofa bed from the Futon Company and they have been awful. Both products have broken within six months, and the Futon Company have been really slow at getting back to me (a week for each correspondence) and then without telling me delivered a spare part to my old address. I regret buying anything from the Futon Company and would definitely suggest shopping elsewhere.

I also have problems with them, and I'm currently taking them to court. Did you ask for a copy of this "Testing" report ?

Hi,
No, they offered a replacement, albeit wanting a part payment of £30, so I just did that and moved on, I don't think any 'Testing' Report would hold up in court, so I think you will do ok, Good luck, they are arrogant and rude, any company that refers all complaints back to the store your complaining about is so far up it's own arse it's unbelievable....
