I can't get these people to close my bank account. They loaned me money which I paid back but they continue leave my account open and in turn charge me quarterly bank charges. Having spent money on telephoning their telecentre and a registered letter, they continue to ignore my wish. By the way, the bank is based in germany but they seem to have the same poor standard like in the UK group of santander.
