I've banked with Santander for a year and a half, and thankfully i haven't experienced some of the horror stories that seem to hover around this Bank. Problems? 7-10 days is a heck of a long time to wait without a card. My internet banking came and didn't work. Once it did, compared to another bank account i have, it was like trying to break into Fort Knox.
Then theres the staff...some are lovely and will go out of their way to help. Others do their best to make life incredibly difficult by their sheer incompetence and lack of knowledge.
Considering the size of this bank it's no surprise they're having problems...my advice? Wait a couple of years before thinking of opening an account with Santander.
