I had a Santander esaver account for 4 months and saved £700/month with them. Everything was fine until i decided to transfer £2,700 to my Bank account to pay for a car. For reasons best known to themselves they blocked the payment, froze my account and blocked my internet access. After 6 lengthy calls (at great expense) they blamed it on the fact that they didn't have my phone number so couldn't call to verify the transaction (I had used the same transaction a number of times previously with the same bank and no problems!!!).
Eventually they put the transaction through and told me my internet access would be available within 5 minutes. Well the money went through but still no internet access.
I have now emptied the account and couldnt be bothered to ring yet again to unblock the internet access. I will now save with someone else.
