“Rip off”

I was a long time customer with this bank. They changed the minimum balances on accounts. I wound up paying service fees on my accounts. When I addressed this with a customer service representative, she said that I signed a form agreeing to the change. I told her that I did not and told her to look for a signature. She started typing and after a few minutes changed the subject. She refused to admit that she was in error. I would have been better off putting my money under my mattress… Read Full Review

“Worst bank ever”

I opened a bank account 2 months ago, and her account has just been blocked without any reason. Never went overdraft, never had any debits of any kind, what i just did was depositing money and making transactions. I now can't have access to my own money, they are ignoring or redirecting my calls without giving me an explanation and asking me to wait for the unknown. “Useless Operation one of the worst I have ever come...”

Today I tried to open an account in Kensington High Street today for the freehold owning company of a small block of flats where I am one of the leaseholders. I had some money sent to my account from a friend in France, £5k, for repairs to his home in England. The following morning I filled my car up and when I went to pay my card was declined. Called metro bank and was told they had frozen my account, without any notification, because they think im laundering money. I'm so glad I haven't read the reviews on this page, otherwise I would have been stuck i with the same banks and the same old "not being eligible for anything". “AVOID THIS BANK - INCOMPETENT and COMPLETE TIME WASTERS!”

This Bank will give you a nervous breakdown. It mainly employs unprofessional school leavers who consistently miss-advise and make false promises. I needed to open a new bank account as we were selling our house and have a mortgage which is also a current account (One Account). Visited a London branch with all the necessary documents. We have three properties, two in the UK and one abroad. Even they are claiming not to use credit scoring then they have to do so according to applicable laws and financial regulations. You need a good approach to the bank to get better conditions.

“Discrimination”

I applied in one of the Metro Bank branches to open an account in Borehamwood. The staff was so unprofessional as I literally waited for half an hour to be served. Unfortunately I faced discrimination and felt awful as they will not offering current account to refugees! My experience was terrible and I have never recommend it to anyone. My signed account personal details were changed without my knowledge or permission and were subsequently incorrect. A monthly charge of £15 has suddenly appeared on my account after three years; with no explanation and staff have not been able to explain it or remove it. “Useless customer service - Can't even open an account”

Went in to the branch at 19:10 to open an account only to be told there is a waiting list we are closing soon. Looked around the branch and there were about 3 of their staff sitting there doing nothing. When i asked about why cant they see me now the guy said they are 'We need to start preparing to close'. Whats the point of being open till 20:00 if stop seeing customers at 19:10. Other banks have opened an account for me in 10 minutes. This Bank I thought was great but now have to say worst Bank I have ever had to try deal with. Put cash in the account on Sunday june 29 went to Oak furniture land to buy items as sale ending that night. Checked my card balance all OK. Then the card was declined. Called Metro bank only to be told the card was declined on the merchants side, but that all was ok on the Banks side so they put a hold on the funds. Have to wait 7 days for the hold to drop off.
