I am banking with ICICI since 2005 and had no issues when I was in India. It was my salary account. The only thing is they forced me with a Credit card which was required anyway, so I accepted it. But when I became NRI things changed. I decided to open 3 in 1 account and came across worst possible customer service in the whole world. The person I was in contact with never called on time, always called randomly. Always called more than once for a single document. Called repeatedly to request different documents. Even if I complained, no one listened. Finally I opened my account but with lot of issues. I have been told my KYC status documents were not received which I sent them using tracked delivery. Even after sending documents twice they did not clear my account for KYC status.

When I opt in for home loan, ICICI showed their original nature. They absolutely ripped me off because I am a NRI, 7 days process took more than a month. Everyday new document was requested. I was forced to take insurance on the loan but after lot of fighting they took back insurance which otherwise would have costed 1 lakh more. Once I declined the insurance, my loan processing was impossible, loan manager started asking for weird documents delaying my loan and making me pay interest.

This is worst bank, please go to other bank if possible. Customer service doesnt mean anything for ICICI, all employees care about is their commission.
