“Bad Experience with a complaint”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Hughesln467 on 19/09/2014

Well it has come to the point where I got so disgusted with this bank, I closed it. I submitted a complaint in May and all the complaints department could tell me is that they are still investigating my complaint. Yeah right! They passed the eight week time frame to resolve my complaint and yet to receive an outcome. This bank is quick to take the management fee, but they forget that the management fee pays their wages. They do not know what they are doing. I got a Barclays current account, and I advise anyone who has a poor credit rating to think of all your options before you apply to open an account with Think Money. Barclays has no management fees, branches nationwide, access to your cash after midnight once it is paid in, friendly face to face customer service, free telephone banking, mobile app, no premium rate charges to contact them either. Think Money does not look after customers, their services are appalling. They hide behind a desk. This is my second review submitted regarding my complaint. SO THAT MUST SAY SOMETHING! DONT open an account with them...

I am having the exact same problem with Think Money. It's almost three months since I originally submitted my complaint, and I still haven't received a final response. The Ombudsman are now dealing with it for me. Appalling conduct.

This is what Think Money do to their customers. They patronise us, treat us like idiots, and I have many, many specific examples - their latest tactic though is to lock people out of their accounts, providing no reason, no explanation, and no timescale. When explicitly asking for the reasons, they just point blank refuse to provide one. They are currently holding £986 that I received into my account, and in my view I say they have stolen this money because they will not provide any explanation whatsoever as to why they are holding it from me, how long they will hold it for, the staff are extremely rude, and Think Money keep commenting on these reviews saying that "this is not the usual experience of our customers" while the fact of the matter is that by doing some basic searches online, one can locate many, many reviews of dis satisfied customers, and customers who have had their money stolen by this sorry excuse of a bank, and then we are left with nowhere to turn. The staff close ranks on you once your name is known in connection with a complaint, and any progress with them is impossible. If you plan to open an account with these people, after reading these reviews, then you do so at your own risk. There are many free banking accounts out there available to anyone irrespective of your credit history, I urge you to look into these first, and don't end up in the same situation that so many thousands of us have.

Hi,

My name's Steven and I work for thinkmoney.

I’m sorry to hear that this has been you experience with thinkmoney.

We do endeavour to resolve complaints immediately; however, sometimes this may not be possible. If this is the case our Customer Relations team will acknowledge receipt of your complaint in writing within five working days and provide details of the individual handling the complaint.

If your complaint is particularly complicated, we will keep you informed of the progress of our investigations. In the event that we are unable to send you a final response to your complaint within four weeks, we will write to you or telephone you explaining why we have not yet resolved the complaint and indicating when we will make further contact.

I’m concerned that the overall complaint has taken an extended period of time. Please email us directly, via the contact details on Review Centre, and I will be happy to chase this up for you.

I look forward to hearing from you.
