I have an account with Secure Trust for my sins and quite frankly - and - considering I have to pay £12.50 a month, they are pretty much useless on the customer service side. My mother died nearly a month ago and was cremated a fortnight back. I closed all her accounts and received a payment from her insurers at the end of June. I then emailed Secure Trust requesting paying in slips as they only ever send you a few initially. I thought they would arrive pretty quickly (5/7 days) but they didnt. I contacted SB again - this time by phone and evntually spoke to someone - this time they told me it would be 10 working days! A grand total of 27 days later no slips and after phoning customer service yet again they said it had to be posted and then it would take 10 days! Why does it take them such a god forsaken time to cash a cheque??? I will end up paying interest on my mothers funeral and when I do I will be issuing a formal complaint aginst Secure Trust for their rubbish customer service. They could easily have emailed me and told me there was a problem - after all what do I pay £12.50 a month for? Does anyone know?
