“Poor service, even worse organization”

What can be said about a supposedly professional organization that cannot handle the most basic of transactions? I placed an order online and cancelled in with 2 hours. I called the Vente Privee customer service person who said that she too cancelled it in their system.

Two days later the vendor emails me to set up delivery!! Vente Privee had charged my credit card and forwarded the order to the supplier. The new customer service person said the order had not been cancelled and that they would have to wait to issue a credit until someone came back from vacation!!!

I'm not sure how this clearly amateur organization landed the marketing deal with sophisticated American Express. AE must have been paid a lot or the vetting department didn't do their job.
