The BMW 6 Series is basically a 2-door/4-passenger luxury sports or convertible sports car with a mature, and many say, beautiful styling.
The range was re-launched in 2003 after an initial run that lasted from 1976 to 1989, again a continuation of a longer sports tradition. The modern BMW 6 Series line-up consists of the 650i coupe and convertible. These models offer a standard 4.8-litre, V8, 360hp engine doing about 17-mpg in the city and 24-mpg on the motorway. The 650i Convertible offered about 16-mpg in the city and 22-mpg on the highway. A 6-speed manual or automatic transmission with overdrive is optional. Exterior design elements included a low kidney grille, a swept-back roof, and clean lines similar to the 5 Series.

Item: BMW 6 Series 650i Sport Convertible
I drove the XKR the Porsche 911 and a few other fairly hot cars. The reason I went for the 650 was for several reasons.
The price (very reasonable), the spec, the power, the speed, the noise, the comfort and out of all of them I love to drive it every day. Great for day to day living with and when you fancy a quick big of hooligan effect, press the 'sport' button and everything changes. Item: BMW 6 Series 630i Coupe
The new R6 engine in the BMW 6 Series 630i Coupe is a gem. Much improved than the M54 unit which in my 530i. The engine makes some decent noise too, but I wish the exhaust was a bit louder. The 645ci I test drove made such a wonderful noise!! From the outside, you get this loud, raw monotone rumble from the dual exhausts, but you can't hear a darn thing from this car from the inside. You only hear a faint rumble at low-revs, that's all. It kinda lacks character IMO.

Item: BMW 6 series (E63) 630Ci Cabriolet
I had a BMW 6 series E63 630Ci cabriolet as a loan car from BMW for 2 days, and I used it to go to the Lake District. The weather was perfect for open top motoring, so I had plenty of opportunity to get the roof down and play with the car on twisty roads.
The car handled well on the twisties. The 3 litre engine has noticeably more torque than the outgoing engine it replaces. It has plenty of poke and makes a great noise on full chat.

Item: BMW 6 Series 630 Ci Cabriolet
Borrowed a BMW 630 Ci cabrioletfrom BMW for our visit to the lakes and was very impressed by the open top motoring experience this car delivers. The three litre engine has plenty of power and revs higher than the VAG V6 units.
In addition to the Auto box sports mode which changes the gears at higher revs there is also a Sport button to firm up the suspension for extra body control on smoother roads. This button also seemed to effect gear change but I'm not too sure.
