“Poor quality - doesn't stand up to the weather”

Written on: 28/05/2012 by Andy_W (1 review written)

I have had an Outback Excel 300 for 3 years. It was easy to control the heat and cooking on it was fine but it hasn't stood the test of time. The ingnition stopped working after a year. The plastic legs aren't strong and one cracked. It is all very rusty now and the burner has rusted through. I haven't been able to get a replacement burner from outback and so have decided to cut my losses and get a Ducane Affinity 3100 on offer at the moment for £265 incl quality cover. My brother-in-law has had one for four years and it is still going strong. Still looks in good condition and much more sturdy. Outback are cheap and low quality. My new Ducane (made by Weber) should be much better quality.
