On 22nd January 2012 I went to the Leonardo da Vinci at the National Gallery in London. It had a collection of almost all his surviving paintings from all over the world. It was mostly paintings, but there were quite a few sketches as well. I had been to galleries before, but never anything like this.
I thought it was really good because it had almost all of his paintings in one place. It was the first time ever this had happened. Also, there was a lot of information about the paintings, so I learned a lot about them. There was only one bit I didn’t like, and that was the fact it didn’t have the Mona Lisa! I would definitely recommend it to everyone, but the exhibition closed on February 6th 2012, so now it is too late to see it.
From it I learned that Leonardo da Vinci painted a lot of pictures and that he was an incredible artist, and also that his writing was a bit odd.
