“Excellent buzzer hatches at Sharpley”

Excellent buzzer hatches ,so when fishing dry, emergent patterns at Sharpley they did well.Green Shipman's buzzers were unbeatable at times-so long as they were no larger than size 18! I find the lads in the fishing lodge helpful by offering me flys and giving some hints on where to fish on the 6 lakes, however 5 are for Fly Fishing, one is Dry Fly only, another is the Cuthbert where you have to take the fish and there is no catch and release. The biggest other three lakes are both catch and release and take your fish lakes. All gives a great varied and fishing experience. The lodge has complementary coffee and tea all day. It's really easy to get too as its only 5 min off the A19 at Seaham from the North and 10 min from the South. Travelling from Newcastle or Middlesbrough takes only 25 min .Can be a little breezy at times but some of the trees are maturing and you can find sheltered places. The bottom dam is the place to try to find easy fishing . A good venue with excellent quality trout.
