The Praktica MTL 50 was the final fling in M42 screw thread cameras in was the most popular model around 1988- until The Early 90s many people don't know that Prakticas were built by hand by skilled workers who had vast experience in design and quality to compare a Leica to one is a bit churlish ans in fact photo=snobbery taken as an insult>The Pentacon Prime Lenses were in fact made by "The Best" Carl Zeiss Jena most were rebadged Pancolours or
Tessars and Sonners
The MTL 50 was unique by the fact of two arrow LED's to take care of any decrepencies over a match needle meter but basically they were all accurate
and made on the same high quality standards I have just purchased a Mint MTL50 after 23 years as I bought one new in 1989 they are wonderful cameras to own and use and you are holding apiece of the legacy that Praktica-Pentacon left behind
