Ollie999's review of Kodak ESP 5250

“Absolutely rubbish printer.”

Kodak make a big thing of marketing their printers for having cheaper ink. This is absolutely untrue. The cartridges cost slightly less to buy but they've got hardly any ink them. It's amazing just how quickly they run out. It works out at about £1 per sheet overall. That sounds unbelievable but I spent £30 on a new set of cartridges (official Kodak ones) and counted the number of prints and only got 31 before they had run out. I think the reason for this is that after a day or two of not printing anything the ink heads dry up and it won't print anything. This is fixed by going into the maintenance menu and using the "clean ink heads" option. I assume this must use up a load of ink and unfortunately is required every time you want to print anything. This is without a doubt the worst and most expensive printer I've ever owned. I intend to throw it away and get a different one as soon as the present ink cartridges have run out which as they're nearly half full will be about 10 pages if I'm lucky.

Also the scanning software is rubbish. If you just want to scan and save some documents it requires going through about 8 steps for every single page.
