Item: Alba STB2
I bought the Alba STB2 with good trust but after few months it is connecting to my remote. So I have to manually operate to see the channels. I even bought a new remote and tested through my digital camera when technician advised me. Remote is fine but the alba freeview is not connecting to remote. So frustrating ...

Item: Alba DVD108
I was given this one by a friend who had some problems with DVD movies. I just use it to play MP3 sounds and it works great for that.

The Alba STB8 is easy to set-up. Light weight plastic boxes. Also costing under £20. However it keeps freezing and sometimes needs reseting. I live in Edinburgh. Maybe other areas are

The remote control buttons only work if you are very close to the unit. The channel selection is erratic, in fact the volume control appears onscreen when you to change channel with the remote. Item: Alba RDVD1001
My Alba RDVD1001 wouldn't eject disc`s, and write error messages appear while recording all the time. Nothing else could read the disc, and the recorder broke after little use and I was told that it would be cheaper to replace the item than to repair
