Upon arrival at Palma Airport in the evening of January 6th I made my way to the designated pick-up point. A couple already waiting said names for transfers were on the office shutters-the office was closed due to the late hour. My name was not there so I called the emergency number . At first the english spokesperson said my transport should be with me shortly and that she would ring me back. When she did so she said the company had not got my booking. I told her I had my transfer document with me as instructed and that was how I had her number. She then asked if I had booked a private or shared transfer. when I told her a shared transfer she said "We don't do shared transfers in the winter. We would have refused the booking." I told her I had no knowledge of this cancellation and I was in palma airport- a female pwnsioner alone. her response was to tell me to get a taxi. The cost of a taxi to my resort was 78 euros and although I told her I didn't have that much cash she said there was nothing she could do. I was eventually rescued by another passenger on the same plane. When I contacted Hopparide the next day they said they had indeed cancelled my booking and although I told them no cancellation had been received they were not simpathetic. I suggested that the company should have a procedure where passengers whose booking is cancelled have to acknowledge receipt of the cancellation email as to be stranded alone at night in a foreign airport is stressful for anyone.I asked for a copy of the complaints procedure-for which I ama still waitng and this incident happened in JANUARY!
