I don't usually do this but I figured I would use social networking to my advantage. You can take it or leave it, just wanted to make you all aware. I will NEVER fly United Airlines again. Going to go to Yuma AZ with boyfriend to see my nephew graduate in May. Plan was to fly into Yuma, visit my folks for 2 days then drive with them to Phoenix, attend graduation and fly home from there. Would be a very short trip. Boyfriend wanted to book the arrival flight one way and I was going to book the return flight one way. He accidentally booked a PM flight instead of an AM flight which was going to put us in Yuma at 11:30pm. He thought he was booking AM. Human error. Hey it happens. But as a result I would lose a whole days visit with my parents. So I called the airlines to see if I could change it to an AM flight, same day. There were several flights still open. I was told it was a $150 per ticket plus taxes and fees bringing the cost to $177 each. The original ticket only cost $160 a piece. I was very nice and explained how ridiculous I thought it was to pay more than the ticket was worth just to change a flight. I was told "sorry its our policy" When ask how much it would be to cancel flight and start all over I was given the same story and "sorry its our policy" Talked to a supervisor, got no where. Even after explaining that a similar incident had happened last year with southwest and they gladly changed my flight for $35. I am very happy to pay a small fee for my own mistake. But what United is doing is plain robbery. I usually keep quiet and vent to myself but I am taking a stand on this one. I am tired of cooperations, companies, employers, getting away with taking advantage of the American people and it continuing to happen because "its their policy". So many people out of work, economy worst it has been, and companies going bankrupt. Well this is exactly why. If you stop taking care of the people that keep you in business than you deserve everything you get. These are hard times and every-time I turn around one more thing just gets taken away. Companies greedily taking money from us and are getting away with it because it is their policy and you didn't read the fine print. So is you agree that you are fed up with it and willing to take a stand with me than please re post. Or better yet boycott United Airlines with me. If not, that's ok that is your freedom of choice and I will never take that away. Cant same the same for the suits in charge however......
