We will never book on Sunship 1 again!
We purchased 4 tickets on Sunship 1 flying out of Rockford to Cancun. Several weeks after purchasing, we received an email stating that Sunship 1 will no longer fly out of Rockford on Tuesdays - flight cancelled. They informed us of the cancellation 4 weeks before the flight...all within their rights if you read the fine print. Our only options were to get a refund or reschedule. Rescheduling was not an option. Hotel reservations had been made and other family members had booked flights out of different cities on the same dates. We requested a refund and are now flying out of Minneapolis...a much longer drive but the only way to get reasonable airfare right now.
A co-worker had a similar experience. He was informed 2 weeks before his flight that it had been cancelled. He was told that they would put him on a different flight out of Rockford. When he got to Rockford, he found out (after standing in line) that Sunship gave him a voucher for the wrong airline and he had to go stand in a different line. He was not alone. Many others had the same problem. Luckily, he got on the flight but did not know for sure if he would have a flight home.
