“SINGAPORE AIRLINES TOOK MEMORY CARDS WITH HUNDREDS OF...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Margarethajulie on 30/09/2012

Our flight SQ 319 28 June 2012 London-Singapore. Due to very tight connection time and we have to move to different terminal, I forgot to take my camera bag with camera and camcoder from the upper compartment inside the airplane. When I collected it from the Lost and Found Dept, my memory cards inside the camera was stolen. We were so heart broken to know that someone has stolen our hundreds of precious family vacation photos across Europe for 3 weeks. Why would someone want to take memory cards? Singapore Police and SATS police investigated it and concluded they were taken from my camera. Singapore Airlines admitted it and offer only to pay for the price of 2 memory cards. How about our photos? It's not the memory cards that we want, but our PHOTOS! Very sad to know that a world famous airlines could stole our photos and replace them with only memory cards. I wish I could buy them memory cards and they return my photos back. They have no good intention to compensate our stolen photos. This experience has totally change our impression of Singapore Airlines and Changi Airport Singapore. They are not safe after all...

I urge you to see what you wrote again...

"I forgot to take my camera bag..."

You also have not been clear of WHO took the memory cards... SIA staff? Or unknown person?

If it is SIA staff, then I am pretty sure they are willing to dig that staff out for return and further disciplinary actions.

If it is NOT SIA staff, what are you complaining? You forgot to take your camera bag and someone (not their staff) stole your items! And you expect the airline to pay for your own negligence?

Perhaps you wanna review your review again...

I left my bag inside the airplane. If you read SIA policy, anything left inside the airplane is the responsibilty of SIA. They found the bag and written everything they found in it in "Lost Items Found" receipt, including "32G MICRO SDHC MEMORY CARD". So they did receive the memory cards. But when I collected my items from "Lost and Found" Changi Airport, they could not return my memory cards. it's like they found your diamond, but only return you the diamond box.

Even the Singapore Police and SATS police Changi Airport investigation concluded one of the staff took it. But it's a pity they could not tell who was it since they do not have CCTV in that department.

As you said, I was pretty sure they will dig into this matter. But unfortunately I was totally wrong. Singapore Airlines is NOT A RESPONSIBLE airlines as we always thought.
