I used Singapore Airlines to fly return from Manchester to Houston in November 2016 (economy class). The experience was excellent (also helped by Manchester's airport being much better than anything London can offer). The aircraft was clean and comfortable. The seat had more facilities than I've seen on any other airline, including footrest, good useable seat back pockets, a little place next to the seat-back television to store things like pens or spectacles. The inflight entertainment was excellent. The food was good quality if you like Asian food. The cabin crew work extremely hard and are constantly bringing drinks around. But perhaps the best thing about Singapore is their generous baggage allowance. This puts Western airlines to shame, with two 23kg bags allowed per passenger! Highly recommended.

Booked economy class- clean, comfy seats, enough leg room, polite attendants and was given a very nice singapore noodles meal. Lovely attendants who like to fuss and make extra effort to passengers. Flight was long- but the in flight entertainment, comfy seats and kind attendants made the trip worthwhile! Will def book again. First class experience- and nice food! We have also flown with Etihad- they were good but attendants less focused on passenger comfort.

Smoothest flight ever, fantastic seats and great information/entertainment centre. Hostesses were very attentive and not at all pushy! Food was more than adequate Assisted with boarding, nothing too much hassle, never felt rushed and had lots of room to stow luggage. Flight attendants were most courteous and helpful. Flight was exceptional value for money, cheaper in fact that other budget airlines! Would recommend to anyone for a really first class flight.

We were totally underwhelmed by the 'flat beds' on this airline. The bed had to be made up, no pressing a button and the seat going flat. The back of the seat has to be pulled down and the remaining 'mattress' is one and a half inches thin!!!!! Most uncomfortable. Food was mediocre and although the staff in business class were decorative, the service was poor.

If I fly to Asia and have the choice of flying Singapore Airlines, I always book with them. I only ever flown economy class with them but they can compete with some 'premium economy' product. Their planes have plenty of room in Economy class, the staff are always helpful and friendly, food must be one of the best I have ever had on a plane (I am vegetarian and they even served me butternut squash gnocchi once, which were amazing). The crew always walk through the cabin offering soft drinks. Their TV system is also very good with large selection of movies/TV programs and music.

Very rude flight attendants. I was suffering from food poisoning and didnt eat anything but I asked for water 3 times and I was gived one cup with very rude face. I even explained I am suffering from dehydration but when I asked for water again I got the rudest looks form the flight attendant. This is the second time I made a mistake of flying with Singapore Airlines.

Being such a reputed carrier offering superlative in-flight services, entertainment and meals, it is important to be focussed on customer service. Work a bit on your customer service and you shall rock guys!

Travelling with Singapore airlines from December 2013 to January 2014 I have been shocked at the way they have been running their flights. All 4 have my flights have had scheduling changes. The first one from London to Singapore, months in advance and rescheduled so that I wouldnt be able to get my connecting flight. I ended up having to start my journey 3 days earlier that I originally planned. I am now sitting at an airport waiting for another flight that was cancelled at the time it was due to fly, because of maintenance issues. My new flight is delayed once again, so who knows what will happen to my re-scheduled flight. I am amazed at the number of problems that I have experienced with their maintenance and scheduling. Is this airline on the way down?

SQ222, Sydney to Singapore Dec 17 2013. I encountered the worst ground customer services by Singapore Airline on this flight from Sydney to Singapore (SQ222) I was assigned a seat at check-in and on boarding, my seat was taken away and I was told that my seat had to be given to a family. As it is a full flight, I had to accept the newly re-assigned. I was told in a rude way that I either accept the newly assigned seat or leave the air-craft. This is a trip that I was looking forward to be home for Xmas. I have never encountered such as arm-twisting way to either accept the re-assigned seat or to leave the aircraft. My entire flight was ruined and I never had been so embarrassed in my traveling time. I will not travel with Singapore Airline again if it is on flying out of Sydney to Singapore. this is the worst ground staff and customer services I have ever encountered in all my years of traveling with Singapore Airline

Hi all....
Yes I agreed to all of these bad reviews on Singapore Airlines...so keep on telling and spread them all...and remember to make video records as a proof and share them on youtube...so they can realize and be humble...and I also wondering that they can be no 1 airline most of the time....? Are the reports all fraud or are they all blind and deaf? Come on guys make them suffer...thank you all for the supports

5502,
SQ staff themselves (ground and air) have been made to believe that they can walk on water......
I abandoned SQ many years ago when I saw this trend and am now a Gold card with Emirates and Qatar. Within Asia I use JAL, Korean Air and Cathay and avoid SQ completely.

Flew SFO-SIN recently. No complaints whatsoever except for their silly policy of seeing the credit card with which you purchased the ticket. My card was stolen and they don't have a good system to deal with that. I brought a letter from the bank explaining the theft and I also brought my statement showing the charge. That eventually got me through. One piece of advice: if your card number gets stolen but you still have the physical card, DON'T CUT IT UP. Set it aside and take it with you on trips so you can show it. Singapore, Cathay Pacific, and EVA all asked for the card and they don't care if the card is defunct--they just want to see it. Silly but true. I have no idea what you would do if the ticket was purchased by your business, a travel agent, or a friend, which is what makes the policy so strange.

I became a loyal customer of the airline a few years ago. I was supposed to travel from Paris to Barcelona using Air France and a few days later, to travel from Barcelona to Singapore using SIA. However, I was stranded in Paris because of a strike. I did not get any help from the Air France staff but the helpful SIA staff arranged for me a flight directly to Singapore. The airline has not failed me thus far, for their warm Asian hospitality combined with efficiency.

Singapore Airlines was and always will be the only airline I will be on, I thought, till my family and I had to use Japan Airlines as that was the flight provided to Hokkaido, Japan. The seats were oh so, softand comfy and so were the headrests. And was I amazed to see that the Economy Class toilet was exceptionally clean, the toilet seat was cute and white and so were the surroundings! There was so much room to stand in front of the full-length mirror and the faucet had a sensor without me having to touch it. In contrast, the Economy Class toilets on SQ need a complete renovation. The toilet seats on SQ are cream-coloured and its patterned flooring needs a revamp too. Nothing has been changed for years. Okay, when I entered the toilet, someone had already lifted it and it was awful to see the gunk and hardened brown stains beneath. The water in the sink usually gets stuck (not only on this flight) as one has to press the faucet for the water in the sink to flow through while pressing another part for the water to wash one's hands. The tissues also always get stuck because pressing down the metal plate is hard and it springs back to 'bite' one's hand so you can see why no one tries to push them down. I say, forget it..just make a side wall-pocket like JAL's. I can't remember the SQ Flight Number but this was on a flight from Amsterdam to Singapore on 28 Oct 2013 reaching Singapore in the early morning. Singapore Airlines officers must make a check on all SQ flights to improve its image, especially in the maintenance and hygiene of toilets on the plane. Obviously, the SQ airline stewardesses are not doing their job as JAL stewardesses are. Travellers prefer clean toilets to looking at just pretty faces who aren't doing what they are supposed to do - upkeep the toilets.

Was on SQ959 on 25 Apr from Jakarta to Singapore. Jakarta airport uses color tag coding to control boarding priority. Blue for 1st, biz, PPS and Star Gold passengers. Next was those with Red tag which I was holding. That means I belong to the early group to board the economy sector. Happily I was looking forward to pick up the day's Straits Times (S$0.90 ea)but to my dismay the tray was left only with "My Paper" (given free on the streets). As a Singaporean I'm addicted to reading the Straits Times, our national papers and I 'm sure other fellow Singaporean passengers are like me. After settling down at my seat, I asked a stewardess for a copy of ST and she in return asked me back politely whether I'd missed the News tray on my way in. I told her it was empty and she promised to do her best. She did come back to me with a set of ST. The point here is, SIA being a world class, national airline couldn't even ensure there is adequate ST?. The airfare is Abt S$700.00. Why try to save S$0.90/passenger? Note: I returned the papers to another stewardess for recycling after I"d finished with them.

SQ is a very good airline in the air - one of the best if not the best. But it is an appalling airline on the ground. Call centre staff, ground handling, Krisflyer staff etc. are all atrocious. If your journey goes well and you have no need to contact ground staff, call centres etc you should have no problems and enjoy the experience. If you need to contact a call centre or there is a problem you can expect rude, arrogant, ill-informed and wholly uninterested staff at every turn.

I sent in a feedback form about a poor service. Guess what! After their investigation, the crew painted a different picture. Instead of checking with me, SQ replied me with their own version and said case closed. I escalated as they are implying I'm lying! What an arrogant way to treat your customer. Super snobbish and lousy airline!

Great flight to Singapore, good movies , good seat plenty of legroom food superb

I'm writing this because I can't believe the stupid things that some people write in their reviews and so put people off without good reason. We flew to Singapore from Heathrow recently and the service was great. Lets be clear - it was an economy flight - so flying for 13 hours you are going to go get a bit of a sore bum and that is just the way it goes. So to all those who criticise the seats and the legroom get real ! Or if you want better then I suggest you save up a lot of money and fly business or first class. The food was great as were the drinks - free extras when ever you wanted them. Within reason of course.I suggest you check in online to get the seats you want. The entertainment offered loads of options from the latest films to documentaries. I hope this helps people who are undecided. Some people just seem to moan about anything and look for someone to blame for something which is quite often their fault. Best of luck.

I had an accident on board. The stewardess hit me with the food cart. I really got hurt. They then gave me an ice pack and then wrote an incident report, gave me a copy, but took it away again. Now say that the accident never happened. I would make it all up and might have hit my knee somewhere else. They say very much that I a a bit stupid. This is unbelievable, I am taking them to court now and then make sure my story goes around. Lying human garbage of Singapore Airlines. They also told me that I should have been happy that they took me to the hospital (where they identified a clear line and confirmed to be hit by a sharp corner)... if I were not a Westerner, they would do nothing. DON'T FLY WITH THEM. DON'T FLY WITH THEM. DON'T FLY WITH THEM. DON'T FLY WITH THEM. DON'T FLY WITH THEM.

In April 2012, I booked two return flights London/Sydney via Singapore. The plane was an Airbus 380. Initially I booked seats 44A (non-preferred seat) and 44B (preferred seat). Shortly afterwards, I received a phone call from the Indian call centre who insisted that 44A was also a preferred seat. I refused to pay and perused the seating plan once more. Seat 54A was clearly shown as a non-preferred seat and 54B a preferred seat. This time I made a SCREEN SHOT of the seat allocation plan as evidence. Again, I received a phone call from the centre and they took my credit card details for seat 54B only. In August, I received an email informing me that "due to seasonal schedule changes or aircraft changes" seat 54A was changed to a seat far away from 54B on three of the four flights. My wife and I (a retired couple) were incensed. Just to make sure that we would sit together, I then felt compelled to purchase preferred seat 53C. I then wrote a letter of complaint to the SA London office in which I asked for a re-instatement to 54A and a refund of my fee for 53C. SIX weeks later, I received an email stating that we had been allotted 54A and B again and that a refund for 54C had been arranged.FIVE weeks later, having received no refund, I wrote a reminder via email. The day after, we checked our seating allocation again, only to find that yet again, on four flights, we had been thrown out of 54A to other seats far away. You can imagine our frustration and desperation!! I then wrote a second letter of complaint and threatened with legal steps. Shortly afterwards, I received an email and a phone call confirming seats 54A and B for the outward bound flights only. At Heathrow, we went to the ticket sales counter and claimed our refund again. Let´s hope the payment will go through. Well, I am now in Sydney and yes we did get the seats we booked. The on-board experience was fine and we have no complaints on that score. However, this disastrous, stressful seat allocation experience has left us with a bitter taste in our mouths. SA have never offered any compensation for the extreme inconvenience caused. We still do not know if we will receive 54A and B on the return flights. SA claim to be a quality airline, but their service still leaves a lot to be desired!!

I am glad they crew are very good. I am going back home to the Philippines and first-time book this Singapore Airlines. Normally I book for Philippine Airlines, but since I'm going to start from Houston to Cebu. I would try this Singapore Airlines.
