“Appalling!!!! ”

This has to be the worst airline in operation! We have had one of the worst services ever with them on a recent return flight from Bristol to Tenerife. On arrival at Bristol our one suitcase was 2 kilo over weight, which they wanted to charge £40 per kilo to allow through. But taking it out of the suitcase and carrying it as hand luggage was fine (I really do not understand this?). On doing that everything seemed fine but the lady at check-in failed to inform us that the gate was closing. If as planned we had stopped to eat breakfast before entering the departures zone we would have missed the gate! Luckily the staff at the entry to departures were very helpful and efficient! We had paid for priority boarding at a cost of £5 each, each way. We were ushered into a separate queue and led to board the plane first, however, we were at the back of that queue and by the time we were on the plane the Ryanair staff had already started to allow the passengers that had not paid for priority boarding onto the back of the plane and so not giving us any priority of choosing where to sit at all! Although the flight departed and landed on time, the whole inflight experience was tainted by screwing you out of every penny they possibly could! I do not understand how they get away with charging what they do for simple things like tea and coffee! Take snacks and water with you or expect to pay well over the odds!
Then our return flight was an absolute disaster! On arrival the lady at check-in informed us that we did not have the correct boarding passes and had to pay 60 euro each for them to print off two pieces of paper. The staff were rude and looked down on us. Then because we didn’t have the correct boarding paperwork they did not believe that I had paid for our luggage of one bag (£20 each way btw) and had to pay 120 euros to get it home with us. Needless to say priority boarding which was not worth the paper it was written on anyway was not honoured.
I am utterly appalled by ryanair’s whole set up and will be sending them a formal complaint for the way we were treated at Tenerife South Airport. I’ve looked into the cost of printing our boarding passes and unfortunately they do state a 60 euro charge per person on their website but I will be expecting a full refund of the 120 euro paid for our luggage and the priority boarding charge!
Do not use this airline. Pay slightly more and go with a more reputable one. In the end you will end up paying around the same anyway.
