Our flight from Birmingham to Nice was not on a Monarch airline but a Lithuanian "shed", described by one pilot as "the last turkey in the shop". I feel lucky to be alive after the flight. The plane stank of fuel and was covered in rust.
The attendants spoke no English - not that it mattered as the PA system didn't work (surely illegal?!)
Complete disregard for their customers - did not have the courtesy of informing us we were travelling in this way.
Many fellow passengers felt the same way.

I boarded the same flight last Tuesday, and felt extremely concerned on boarding. Luckily, on moving off there was a large judder from the undercarriage and we stopped, engines shut down and doors opened. I enquired of the on board Monarch rep where the plane was maintained, and learning it was Lithuania chose to offload my family and baggage and was returned to the terminal. It is not worth the risk!
The only saving grace for Monarch was the on board rep who was experienced and very able. Interestingly, we were contacted by Monarch and offered a full refund on non flexible tickets purchased the previous day, even before we had driven home!
Shame, because I use them on a regular basis and would usually rate them.

I echo all the reports regarding this aircraft as my wife and I travelled on the 7th to Nice on the same aircraft. Some legal action should be taken as surely this is misrepresentation. Trading standards where are you.
