The below is what I wrote to Delta while waiting for the flight they rescheduled me on after making me lose the first one. Their response? A $25 voucher to use Delta again, something I absolutely will never be doing!

Let me begin by mentioning I purchased this ticket through Delta only because I had a voucher from my last flight with Delta, yet another debaucle. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. When I arrived, I had an overweight bag and the gentleman who checked me in told me how overweight the bag was. I put items from the bag in my carry-on, and then asked him POINT BLANK if my carry-on was ok after having added some articles from my checked bag. He said 'You'll be fine.' Then I went to go through security and they stopped me, telling me a different story and saying the checked bag was too big. After making it perfectly clear he was not capable of understanding English, he had me walk back over to the counter to point out the gentleman who told me the bag was ok (who of course had left for the day and was unreachable). I spoke to someone else who had to speak to a manager who did not do anything except say that the bag was too big. No apology that the colleague is lacking the training necessary to judge whether a bag is too big or too small, no understanding that I was now running late to the flight, nothing. Having been robbed of both time and $35, I waited to go through security for 25 minutes before I told the gentleman at the security checkpoint that my flight was soon departing, to which he simply shrugged and said, 'you should be fine.' A kind elderly passenger let me cut the line since it was clear that Delta's employees couldn't care less, and running to the gate the lady at the desk said the flight had already left and that I would need to take another one 2 hours later, causing me to miss my appointment in New York. I am now sitting in the airport for 2 hours, with more than enough time to write my complaint. Suffice it to say, I will not only never fly with Delta again, I will also be sure to share my experience with everyone, both in person and online. A word of advice: train your staff. Teach them customer service and for heaven's sake, teach them the same luggage restrictions so that one person doesn't say one thing and another say something completely different. Get it together.
