One early morning i was travelling from NY to Port au Prince on early july 2013 and as soon as passangers boarded there was silence and Delta699 was not departing 15 minutes and some passangers enquired in french and latter pilot announced there was one passanger sick in plane and medics were to come and evaluate if safe to fly...in short medics and police came in aircraft and took passanger and plane as such passengers were in aircraft more than an hour waiting medics to treat and give clearance to the sick passanger.....why should this airline delay flight and incovinience many many passangers just because one person is sick in aircraft......especially when the airline is not offering meals to passangers as lunch!!???
Return from Port au Prince was another experince i have never come accross On arrival in airport PAP lined for 30 minutes before before my laggage was weighed and tagged. This was followed by something i have not seen in any airport ...opening and checking of laggage that also consumed time and unpacked well packed clothes and items.Took line again to final check in after staff was unable to assist me to insert details in delta checking in machine...since he could not understand english well.....can airline come up with civilised checking of laggage since same happened before boarding plane when hand laggage was checked and everything scattered all over.Due to this expereince i was not interested to buy duty free items....was longest checking in and boarding in my entire flying experience....
