My husband and I timed this flight around our toddler's schedule, to ensure his cooperation and best possible behavior. However, that plan was derailed when we sat on the plane for two hours - hearing over and over again that we would take off in 10 - 15 minutes. As it turned out, the plane (the same one we had just flown on from Minnesota) had a broken part and the FFA grounded it until it could be repaired. Of course, they announced that they were trying to find the part, and eventually admitted that they didn't know when, or if, we would take off. As many others on the plane did, we switched to the next Detroit-bound flight, just to sit on that one for more than one hour. To make matters worse, we had to circle for about 45 minutes just 50 miles south of Detroit, as the flight plan was messed up ... due to our late departure! Once we were able to land, there was no gate for the plane, so we once again waited! To top off the whole ordeal, the airline lost our son's carseat and stroller, which we were assured would be transfered to our new plane. We eventually found the carseat and stroller in the lost and found, just to be told that we wouldn't have received them even if we were on the original flight, as they were tagged incorrectly! No one even expressed a bit of concern that we had no way to safely leave the airport with our son! With exception of ONE flight attandant, the entire Delta staff was rude and uncooperative, and treated us as though they were being inconvenienced. The supervisor at the baggage claim area actually had the nerve to tell another gentleman that the Delta staff can't be expected to juump into action everytime someone's belongings have been lost! I will NEVER fly with thsi airline again!
